Re: Ostensibly Hoops
is he still coach? I think they were in the college world series
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Were? They are in the final game tonight. The interview on ESPN of the starting pitcher after their win last night reminded me of this discussion. I just can't find the video of it.

I just interviewed the kid from here who is the #4 PG in the class of 2018. He took an unofficial to UNC but said UK and Duke are already showing love

These NBA salaries are fucking outrageous. No wonder I never pay attention to the NBA. Never really liked or followed it. College Basketball is 10 times better.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
The salaries equate to the product?
You like baseball?
While the new cap is crazy, it just look's like capitalism, to me. Also, if you like college ball better, I don't know if the salary cap level would ever change it. The money was going to the players or Dan Gilbert...it surely wasn't going to build new stadiums or pay for a new chemistry lab.

Re: Ostensibly Hoops
The small roster compared to the other major 3 sports makes this so. It gets the second best ratings next to the NFL, but with a fourth of the roster as an NFL team. Those who prefer to follow college to NBA usually in a city where there is no NBA team. I, personally, would rather go see an NBA game over a football game.

I've been liking the NBA again the past 2 years, mostly because I like watching the Warriors play. I probably watched as many NBA playoff games as I did college games during the season this year.

It's a good thing there is a salary cap in the NBA. If not, you would see $100 million a year players in LA, Chicago, and NY.

Actually, modern pro sports are the near apotheosis of Marxism. The workers get nearly the maximum compensation for their labor while the owners (compared to other industries) get far less. The only way it could be more Marxist than it is is if the active players actually took over the ownership of the teams and got it all. But they're doing pretty well for themselves. Of course, it's only doable b/c the entire work force is just a few hundred guys whose labor is not really commodifiable so they can form a true union, i.e., a union solidly unified in goals and desires with very little worry about anybody else coming in and doing their jobs for them...
