Practitioners of no religion in particular committed another case of workplace violence, this time in Instanbul.

Must have been caused by a YouTube video.

More likely Allegiant delayed their flight 8 hours. Gave them time to go home, build some bombs and come back (you know you've thought about it).

I'm thinking it's a Christian Ulsterman who voted "remain" in the Brexit vote.

Before he pressed the button he yelled, "Praise the Lord! God save the Queen! Nevah!"

Agreed.

GOP House Panel Faults Military for Benghazi Attacks - Associated Press

More hearings than 9/11, Beirut Marine Barracks, Inchon, Pearl Harbor etc. Almost 8 mil spent...all for the admitted goal of bringing down a presidential candidate (or at least her poll numbers).

Hillary maintained on Thursday that she believed the attack still had something to do with the YouTube video, “The Innocence of Muslims.” But the night of the attack, she emailed Chelsea Clinton and told her that an al-Qaeda-like group had killed the ambassador. As Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said to Clinton, “You tell the American people one thing. You tell your family an entirely different story.”

In fact, Hillary told the Egyptian Prime Minister the day after the attacks, “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack. Not a protest.”

Before the attack, Stevens repeatedly asked for increased security. Hillary rejected it, and blamed her subordinate bureaucracy.

During the attack, the embassy called the White House for help. Panetta ordered it. Somebody cancelled it. They were left to die.

After the attack, the whole foreign policy establishment blamed it on a YouTube video, even though the records prove they knew that was a lie.

But nobody cares. What, at this point, does it matter? Hail to the Chief.

"I do not blame Hillary Clinton or Leon Panetta," Anne Stevens, MD, Chris' sister who served as the family spokesperson since his death, told the New Yorker's Robin Wright. "They were balancing security efforts at embassies and missions around the world. And their staffs were doing their best to provide what they could with the resources they had.

"The Benghazi mission was understaffed," she continued. "But, again, Chris knew that. It wasn't a secret to him. He decided to take the risk to go there. It is not something they did to him. It is something he took on himself."

*****House Republicans cut the administration's request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012. (What, at this point, does it matter?)

Democrats have succeeded in persuading the Washington press corps that what happened when four Americans died at Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012 isn’t a story. But the House report released Monday about that night and its aftermath contains details that ought to concern Americans who care about political accountability.
..... The report’s most disturbing facts concern the way the Obama Administration and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spun an alternative narrative that is contradicted by their private statements and the intelligence from the scene.

...But nothing was sent to Benghazi, and nothing was even in route when the last two Americans were killed almost eight hours after the attacks began. The holdup seems to have been caused in part by something else we learn from this report: a 7:30 p.m. teleconference of Defense and State officials, including Mrs. Clinton.

Ostensibly they were sharing intelligence and coordinating responses. But they debated whether they needed Libya’s permission to deploy American troops to defend endangered Americans, whether Marines should wear uniforms or civilian clothes, and so on.

Though there was no evidence linking the Benghazi attacks to a YouTube video mocking Islam, of the 10 “action items” from the notes of that meeting, five referred to the video.

Mrs. Clinton referred to the video more than once in her public statements. At 10:08 p.m. on the night of the attack, she issued a public statement on Benghazi: “Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.” She repeated the point the next day at the State Department.

That’s not what she was saying in private. On the night of the attack, at 6:49 p.m. Washington time, Mrs. Clinton called Libya’s president to say the attack on the diplomatic compound in Benghazi was planned and that an Islamist terror group had claimed responsibility. A few hours later, she emailed her daughter that “an Al Qaeda-like group” was responsible.

The next afternoon Mrs. Clinton was even more categorical. In a phone call with the Egyptian Prime Minister, she said the Benghazi attack “had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack—not a protest.” She added that the Benghazi attackers were believed affiliated with al Qaeda.

On Monday this week on the campaign trail, Mrs. Clinton admitted that lots of Americans don’t trust her. “I personally know I have work to do on this front,” she told her audience. This report shows she has earned that mistrust.

As have her fellow Democrats on the Select Committee. From the start they treated the House investigation the way Mrs. Clinton’s State Department treated Benghazi—as a political issue. They refused to participate in the investigation and spent most of their time denouncing it as partisan. Their minority report on Benghazi contains no fewer than 23 mentions of Donald Trump.

The tragedy of Benghazi is that four brave Americans in a dangerous part of the world lost their lives to a determined and deadly enemy. The scandal of Benghazi is that instead of leveling with the American people, Mrs. Clinton and others who knew better opted for a more convenient—and corrosive—spin.

If Ambassador Stevens was okay with the embassy's security, why did repeatedly beg for more security? In fact, why was the embassy even open? The situation in Benghazi was so dangerous that every other embassy had packed up and left.

Every embassy I've visited has a security force of marines. There were none in Benghazi. Would the marines, who are paid out of the DOD budget, have taken too much from the State Department budget to put them in Benghazi, where they were WAY more needed than guarding embassies in Switzerland or Japan.

If Stevens had contributed some big money to the Clinton Global Initiative, he would have had the Delta force guarding him.

39 attacks on embassies and consulates during the Bush administration, with 20 of the attacks including at least one fatality - 89 deaths in all; 16 Americans including Jim Mollen, the U.S. Embassy/Baghdad Senior Consultant, and Edward Seitz the embassy's Regional Security Officer.

There is no indication of marine intervention (or casualties) in any of those cases. Is that something Condi or Colin should be accountable for?

I wish you had been visiting the Benghazi embassy on Sept. 11, 2012...

Link?

I note that Baghdad was mentioned. I think there was an ongoing war going on there.

But, if any of those cases, the US ambassador begged for more security and got none, came under attack and received no help, and Colin or Condi went a campaign telling blatant lies about the cause, then I will demur. But good luck with that.

BTW, Nixon got impeached for Watergate, but nobody died there.

Speaking of marines, the congressional report says they were ready to go but were ordered to change clothes at least three times. Americans are dying but Hillary and the other idiots were worrying about the dress code for the rescuers. Utterly incompetent and despicable.
