If you decided to send them to a pacifist tattoo-giving vegan atheist testosterone-free pot-smoking, buggery-loving, NPR-listening environmentalist wacko school, that's your right as a parent. If a Catholic parent decides to send their kids to a Jesuit school, that's their right as a parent. Either way, the kid doesn't decide. This really isn't all that complicated.

It doesn't have anything to do with a child's participation in the decision making about his upbringing, it's a tacit admission that the level of brainwashing that is foisted upon them in a strict religious setting will almost certainly produce the desired results. I doubt you would disagree if I had said "radical muslim boast" instead of "Jesuit boast"...

While I'm not in favor of an outright banning of these schools, I do hope that people begin to acknowledge more openly that indoctrination in religion is a form of child abuse and subsequently phase out religious education.
