I never understood why the wife in that commercial gave away the secret, and most sassfully. "Ancient chinese secret, huh??!!" Husband should've slapped the shit out of her for that...

Peter Marshall: Paul, when the citizens of China want a drink of water, they usually do something to it first. What?
Paul Lynde: Remove the shirts.

Oh how times have changed...
Peter Marshall: According to Apartment Life magazine, can you tell anything significant about the personality of a person whose apartment has brown carpeting, brown furniture and brown walls?
Paul Lynde: Yes, their maid just exploded.

ROR!
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Yeah, his SNL turns and 30 Rock appearance shows that he can handle the comedy. Dude from "The Practice" who also played the political operative in that Will Ferrell/Zach Snuffaluffagus movie would be good, too.

Re: UCLA Bruins
ABC had the first of six 30 for 30 special on OJ Simpson last night.
The first one really adds alot of context to the story. I took alot away from it on different topics but I think they did a great job of setting the stage for how OJ was just so well loved that no one would ever think he was capable of doing what he did.

Re: UCLA Bruins
Yeah, I missed the first 30 minutes, but caught the rest. It did give me more information on OJ that I did not have.
Oddly enough, every time I watch something on OJ I think of his kids. I knew his daughter, slightly, when we went to college. She was an adult when everything happened, but it was still tough on her. For the younger kids, I can't imagine how difficult it was then...and now, with the newfound attention on the case, it must be like reliving something they wanted to put behind them. I know it was their father who created this hell they're in...but still. I know they would have rather had all this attention on Robert Blake at this point.

Re: UCLA Bruins
Heard Marcia Clark this weekend, say that there was evidence that OJ hit his first wife, but this had been flatly denied by her. I used to think that the police framed a guilty man, but now I just think the LAPD were extremely sloppy in their handling of the evidence and stupid (Fuhrman). This combined with overcharging him with 1st degree murder in the first place hurt the prosecution.

Re: UCLA Bruins
AHC have a series called Commander in Chief. Did Bush 41 and his decisions in the Gulf War and later Obama in killing Bin Laden. Great programs. Illuminated critical decisions that each made that panned out, including Obama deciding to follow the advice of Clinton, Panetta over Biden/Gates and that his insistence on having a back-up copter near ended being critical to the mission.
At least they didn't use copters that couldn't fly in the desert (Carter)

Even though I believe Jimmy was not a great President, I do think he got a bum rap on the Iran Hostage crisis. Our military was in decline long before in he was in charge.

Good dude, bad leader. Either way, Jimmy Carter is an incredible human being, so he sleeps well at night...and I don't think he dwells on much from those 4 years.

Re: UCLA Bruins
yea I agree
I wasn't old enough to understand what he did or didn't do as a president
I do remember the cardigan sweater state of the union energy crisis speech - which I don't think went over well
and I've always blamed Carter for the 55mph speed limit but I think once I looked into it, it was Ford or even Nixon, but I forget.
at any rate - I associate Carter with a domestic policy that was well intended but totally misguided on why and really misjudging Americans as a whole.
In some ways he really set a tone for the disparity (real or perceived) between Democrats and Republicans . People equate big government with heavy handed government (and vice versa)
which falls on Democrats, even though Republicans are just as big government. They just don't push the heavy hand domestically ...or at least they didn't until they jumped on the morality legislation bandwagon. The evangelical branch that pushes it are converted Democrats.
