I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

whats sad is I can read that code and I knew what it was doing

and that guy was a bit of a jerk - seems reasonable that if you're about to release public code, you don't name it after an established trademarked product in the same domain

Considering that, it reduces the jerktitude of the guy, personally.

so I've got some new hires coming into the company that I'm responsible for training for an extended period.

I've been doing this awhile and part of the training is talking about their "presence" on facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.

Up until now I just talked about shit like posting a picture of someone in the background smoking a joint at a party without considering that their boss might see it or calling in sick to work and then "checking in" at the New Orleans Jazz festival.

now I realize this is a generational thing and people of my age and culture are being left behind as America moves forward but my speech to them now is about creating bias - really an extension of the old adage you should never talk about religion or politics at the workplace. And I'm a firm believer in that.

People I work with would be shocked to read the opinions I post here , mostly anonymously, and for those of you that pay attention to my facebook page, you'll never see any of that on there, and certainly not on linked in. That's because I have coworkers as friends on facebook, and by the six degrees of Kevin Bacon you never know who'll see it.

that's not the case with a handful of these college kids we've hired. Two of which, based on their facebook page alone, I would not have hired them.

But we did hire them and I think its my job - without crossing a line - to educate them about creating bias against them by their social media presence.

of course in today's ultra politically correct world, I'm sure HR would cringe at the idea of me telling someone that posting stupid shit regarding religion, race and politics on facebook or twitter creates bias. They'd probably want to send me to some kind of training seminar on acceptance.

ad blocker hard device that connects to your router

protects everyone using any device on your router from receiving ads (that are known to the blacklist) at home or using public wifi

not thrilled about the $40 usb stick approach though

If social media was around when we were kids we'd all be fucked. Not just BRM.

3 years ago I bought a used Ford F150 King Ranch. Turns out its the biggest piece of shit I've ever owned - and I've owned a Suzuki AND a Kia.

So I'm dumping this beast on some redneck who will want a big V8 4X4 piece of Americana. For now at least I'm done with American brands regardless of where they are built with maybe the exception of Buick.

last month I also sold my Honda CRV so now I'm back on the market for a used 90K miles smallish SUV in the $12K range as my knockaround.

My 3 choices are

2005/2006 Lexus RX330 -which is a Toyoya Highlander with different sheetmetal. Used prices between the two don't vary by $500
2006 Mercedes ML350 - in 2006 Mercedes did a switchover and introduced a new platform that is more car like than the 2005 or older models. Its much more refined than the older models but it has a myriad of glitches associated with a new model year introduction
2006 Acura MDX - 2006 was the last year of that platform. The 2007 and newer models had a new SH AWD system and a tech package that bumps their prices up another 4K on the used market. The 2006 MDX is actually a fullsize - a has fulltime awd, 3rd row seating, voice command and other niceties. I don't want the smaller RDX because I felt the CRV was too small which is one of the reasons why I sold it.

any suggestions on which one to get?

Being my generation, the Mercedes has more prestige than the rebadged Toyota, but I also know that it may nickle and dime me on stuff that drives you crazy like switches not working or relays going bad, and the Acura is the plainest in terms of luxury or tech, but will probably be the most reliable.

its amazing to me that kids go to school 12 years and when they graduate they are no more ready to contribute to the job market than a lettuce picking mexican.

but Americans would lose their shit if our education system followed a plan like some more socialized countries where based on competency you're alreaded weeded out to be a ditch digger or scientist by the 5th grade.
