Poor Jan, thinking she might share the ticket (or anything else) with Trump. Yikes.

Okay, wrong thread. But she's biblically ugly, so I'll leave it.

Maybe evangelicals are not as dumb as we think they are. Just kidding, you're right, I can't figure this out either...
Simple. Ted Cruz is a miserable son of a bitch and no one likes him.
During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

Every time I heard him speak it was like his voice was 2 digits down on the volume. Soft spoken. Quiet. Almost to the point where it was on purpose.

You can't trust soft speakers like that.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Interesting article in the NYT about Trump and the Evangelicals.

Is This the End of the Religious Right?

In a real sense, I think she is missing the bigger point. The identity of and issues important to "values voters" are changing, Not to get deeply theological, but Trump being twice-divorced/thrice-married matters very little to evangelicals under 50. A good friend of mine was a deacon at the (now-defunct) Mars Hill Church in Seattle. It was a major evangelical, reformed, complimentarian megachurch, with a Sunday attendance near 13K. The pastor there, Mark Driscoll, was famous for using profanity, in and out of the pulpit. The gay thing is a real kicker as younger evangelicals take a more grace-centered approach.

I agree that there is a huge generational shift in evangelical views on homosexuality. Too bad Ted Haggard didn't get caught ten years from now. His elders would have told him, "Hey dude. No biggie. What's the sermon next Sunday bro?"

His elders would all have partners, too.

Probably so.

If the rising generation of evangelicals no longer cares what the Bible says on homosexuality, how long until they no longer care about more central traditional doctrines like the Trinity, Incarnation, Virgin Birth, Resurrection, Second Coming, Judgement Day, heaven and hell, etc.? Will they wind up being Episcopalians or Methodists?

Agreed. Those ruffians are probably already wearing seersucker and white shoes - and it's not even Labor Day!

Wearing all those heavy black cassocks has got you bassackwards Prof - it's after Labor Day you don't wear that stuff (though in Florida we stretch it to Thanksgiving).
