I just drove from Atlanta to Tampa. On I-75 between Macon and the Florida line, there at least 50 billboards advertising massage parlors/porn shops, and another 50 billboards advertising fundamentalist Christianity (eg "Evolution is a lie!" and "Read the Bible and all your problems will be solved!") Plus a dozen or so BIG confederate flags.

No wonder Yankees driving to Florida on vacation think the South is weird.

On Wednesday morning, the executive director and president of a North Lawndale group called Mothers Opposed to Violence Everywhere and a handful of others marched across their neighborhood. Their goal was to try to reason with a group of gang members in the hopes that they won't retaliate for a murder the day before.
