I just like how no one knew that Cuba Gooding was in Coming to America (and how Clarence the Barber never touched his hair with the scissors).

Quentin Tarantino never has trouble putting together good casts for his films, but his Sergio Leone-style Spaghetti Western Django Unchained is turning out to be quite something. Kevin Costner is in negotiations to join a cast that is headed by Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Costner is in talks to play Ace Woody, and it's a real surprise turn for an actor most associated with good guy roles. He's the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes. The club and ranch are owned by Calvin Candie (DiCaprio) and Ace Woody is the one who pits the "mandingo" fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don't measure up. The roles that DiCaprio and Costner will play are every bit as sadistic as the one that Waltz played in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds, and while Costner is still doing fine work, this could shine a light on him the way that Pulp Fiction did for John Travolta.

Foxx will play the title character, a slave-turned-bounty hunter who must take on those villains to free his slave wife. It's looking like Tarantino might make a discovery on that role, a character named Broomhilda. The Weinstein Company will put the picture into production in the early fall, with Sony Pictures taking foreign.

Heh, I posted something similar (a clip of the Nerds! chant from the youtubes) on facebook when I realized that Harry Potter and A Dance With Dragons were both dropping this week.

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Oh, I fully partake in the nerdery. (Went to the Potter movie and am about 2/3 the way through A Dance with Dragons). That doesn't mean I don't enjoy also poking fun at said nerdery as well.

During their sparring days of yore, I bet Hedgehog never imagined that Pack and Bruins would get interviewed on a national television show....

you guys remember the movie Broadcast News with Albert Brooks and the scene where he got his shot at the anchor position and then proceeded to sweat buckets?

I've seen that literally happen. I asked a guy to give me and his manager a presentation to update us on how much of a project he had completed, and the guy had nothing done so he had to throw some pile of shit together at the last minute.

He was wearing a light blue shirt and 10 minutes into his presentation he was soaking wet.

It was uncomfortable and hilarious at the same time.

Suge apparently didn't get serious until Tupac came on board.

Until then he was a college scholarship football player who acted like he had "street cred" while Dr. Dre brought in all the money.

Dre was like - fuck all these gangsters, I'm leaving.

Not much new footage in the Batman trailer, but it still looked like the tits. Apparently the chanting out the end of the clip translates to something like "BANE! BANE! KILL HIMI KILL HIM!" So I think they are going to steal a bit of the Dark Knight Returns plot. The bit where Batman fights the leader of The Mutants and loses and then comes back to defeat him later with all his followers looking on with Bane sitting in for The Mutant leader.

If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?
