The Cruz people are never going to be satisfied until the rest of us are either in irons or burned alive. They are convinced that we are on the path to annihilation by an angry God and the only hope is to sacrifice a few billion nonbelievers. But mainly, they want to make everyone listen to Christian music, watch Christian TV shows and movies and not have to pay any taxes at all.

Oklahoma voted for Cruz, but also Sanders. That must be a fucked up place.

If Ted Cruz was the only GOP candidate out there he would flame out quick. I'm convinced his face is not suited for national politics. He will be a Republican Dukakis. Dukakis looked like a Mad Magazine mascot after a few months of having a camera following him. After a few months of 24 hour coverage, Eduardo's half Grandpa Al Lewis from "The Munsters", half used car salesman's face will be persona non-grata on household TV sets. He makes babies cry. Heavens forbid he puts a whole smile on his face. I hear a creaking door every time the corners of his mouth turn upward.
The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

Re: La Salle Explorers
I don't really get this post. Cruz's base is not really on the social side. Most Cruz types seem to be the raging liberals=socialists, socialism never works, cut spending, types that rave about Obamacare, and the Irs, etc. in Texas at least, I suspect most people marching in lockstep on evangelical social agendas voted for Rubio if they were rich types and for Trump if they are the people of the land, common clay of the new west. Cruz has a tea party nut job base, not Christian.Saint wrote:The Cruz people are never going to be satisfied until the rest of us are either in irons or burned alive. Just be glad I can't vote!

Re: La Salle Explorers
If I thought Cruz was actually sincere in what he said, I'd probably consider him - but he supported TPP, he pushed for amnesty (even though now he blatantly lies and says he didn't) and walked away from an audit the fed act he sponsored once he realized it was DOA.
He is a 1 term senator who was astute enough to see the writing on the wall and built his whole political career around fighting the republicans - except everything he's done has been for show - he hasn't accomplished anything and he's caved on some big issues. He got into politics with an eye on the presidency and created a persona that played on the changing landscape of the GOP to get it.
The problem is he never figured Trump , Carson and to some extent Fiorina would totally derail his "I'm an outsider" message and he'd be seen as another politician to be scrutinized.
So he gets desperate to win Iowa and resorts to Louisiana style horseshit on the political trail, gets called on it and loses the evangelical voting base he was counting on.
All those pictures of him praying on his knees holding hands , talking like a AM radio preacher and waving a bible around every chance his gets all goes up in smoke in a few moments of desperation.
In his speech last night, he doesn't even care about fact checking or the truth anymore - he's just hoping to get as many uninformed or undecided voters he can grab.
Polls say he is considered the least trustworthy of the Republicans - and that's saying alot when you're beating out Trump on that one.

I think its a split convention and you have an unholy alliance of trump Rubio or trump cruz brokering the nomination to trump.
especially if Rubio takes florida and north Carolina and kasich gets ohio--trump get Illinois and Michigan I imagine

Last night in his speech he did this George Bush laugh at the end of every statement he made in response to the crowd cheering him

The fact that he chose Grandpa Munster as the persona he created doesn't speak well of his judgement...
