Hey, they just needed to loosen up. Once they got a good look at GT's offensive scheme, they made the proper adjustments. How many yards rushing did GT have after those first three drives?

We get a night game at home, and, like GT last year, I can't make it. Wake isn't horrible, and I am pissed can't make the game. I am in a wedding that day. I gave my tickets to my assistant. She is from Stantonsburg. Her country fried ass is tickled pink to be going.

Late happy birthday to DS. I trust the fact as well as the nature of the Tar Heels and also the Painther's victories this weekend were a satisfactory birthday present for you...

Well, that was nerve wracking. We have made that many errors on offense since the SC game. Looked like we might give this one away too, but no. Coastal division champs. Nice. But sill, if we lose to NCState, I'll be pissed...

Good win, Heels. I really thought NCSU would pull this one off but that UNC offense is downright Baylor-esque. Whoda thunk 3 ACC teams in the Top 10 (plus pseudo-ACC member Notre Dame) heading into December, and only one SEC team?

I suspected our offense was going to roll this year but was leery of what the D was going to be able to accomplish, but they've been a pleasant surprise, to say the least. They're not great by any stretch of the imagination, but they do enough to give our offense a chance to win games (and in some of our games, they done way better than that, but of course we haven't played any offensive juggernauts, either). It would've been fun to get into the playoff, but I fear we would've been exposed by a really great offensive team and I kinda wonder what our offense would do against a really stout D. That said, I will not be surprised at all if we knock Clemson off next weekend. Of course, I won't be surprised if they beat us (maybe even badly), but really do think we can play with them. And I can't see any other team that we'd be paired against in a bowl game that I'd be in fear of, either. Irregardless of what happens from here on, it's been a great season for the Tar Heels...

Nobody wants to play UNC now. It will not shock me to see the Heels beat Clemson.

Gotta re-post this post from after the SC game. Only thing I got wrong in this one was that SC would be an upper level team in the ACC this year....
hedge wrote:UNC was and is the better team. We threw 2 interceptions in the end zone and another inside the 20. Missed an easy interception that would've been returned for a TD. Got stopped on a 4th and 1 at our own 20 that could've easily been ruled a first down. Mistakes are obviously part of the game, but I doubt we'll make that many costly mistakes again this year. We should roll thru the ACC. USC is not the class of the SEC this year by any means, but they'd be an upper level team in the ACC easily. Hate that we lost a game that we should've won by 21+, but shit happens sometimes. I was pleased with the way we played overall, and feel pretty confident that we won't commit those types of costly errors in the future. We'll be fine, should be a 10 win season for us...

Clemson beat us up pretty good last night, I figured a real offense would score a lot of points on us and they did. I didn't expect our offense to sputter as much as it did last night, although we showed enough bursts of what we are capable of to have a chance, however slim, at the end. Hate that we didn't get that chance due to a horrendous call on that on-sides kick, but at the end of the day, Clemson is clearly the better team and played a much better game last night than we did. Always going to be some blown calls and no doubt we were the beneficiary of some ourselves last night, but still that was a bitter pill...
