Wow, the 3rd string QB surprise was so well conceived... Hopefully this is the end.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
That was a clusterfuck of epic proportions. I wonder if it was Richt's mastermind or Schottenheimer's.
"Hey we have this kid who runs...okay...but not great. Let's start him against one of the top 2 defenses we play this year but don't let him run, let him pass pass pass!"
Richt's agent must have been cringing when he came out and said he had no interest in the Miami job. He might have been able to spin it into another contract extension though that might have brought out the pitchforks in Athens.

I think they have to fire him now. They will probably get him to apply for the Miami job so they can both save face.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
After he runs up the score on Kentucky, Auburn and Tech, and beats Northwestern in the Outback Bowl, Richt will get a contract extension. How can you fire a coach that just overcame the loss of his All-American RB to complete yet another 10 win season? He isn't going anywhere.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
Richt has registered 5 wins over UF, won 5 division titles and 2 SEC titles - compare that to the Goof and Donnan eras combined. Going after someone different just for the sake of being different could be a big step backwards.
Re: Georgia Bulldogs
5-15 since 2009 against the top 15. 5-10 against Florida. 1-4 Against Urban Meyer. 2-5 Against Saban. 6-5 against Spurrier.
Ever since 2008's Black Out disaster against Alabama, he has been on the losing end of the games where the lights are brightest. The 2012 SECCG showed he could still compete when his team was fully loaded, but he still lost. Since then, Georgia has trended downwards. 2013 was a lost year due to injuries and bad luck, but last year was inexcusable. Todd Gurley is a once in a generation player, and just like Stafford, Green and Moreno before him -- he was wasted in Athens. The loss to a mediocre South Carolina team and then getting shelled by a bad UF team when Atlanta and the CFB Playoff were in play was flat out inexcusable. Then to make matters worse, Gurley returns after a month long suspension and they ran him 33 TIMES! Of course, his knee gave out. The coupe de gras was Georgia losing to Tech after the loser pukes up the game with 18 seconds left and the lead at home...
Enough is enough.

Just think how Tennessee feels. According the game report, they've lost 9 straight to Bama and have lost 24 straight to top 10 teams...

Maybe they can block a late fg attempt by FSU and run it back for a win.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
Tennessee and Alabama are cautionary tales for Georgia if they are seriously thinking of firing Richt.
Tennessee fired Fulmer. They went into hibernation under Kiffin and Dooley. The jury is still out on Butch. It has been a LOOOOOONG hibernation in Knoxville.
After Stallings, Bama sleep-walked through Dubose, Franchione, the unforgettable Head Coach Mike Price era, Shula and Kines. That was a a really LOOOOONG slumber. Yes, they finally got their prince in Saban, but they had to kiss a lot of frogs first.
If UGA fires Richt, they might run through a failed Head Coach Smart, a disappointing Head Coach Bobo, and a flopped Head Coach Kiffin. And the Dawg Nation will still be here in 2023 wishing for a Head Coach that can consistently win 10 games a season.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
UGA fans are tired of a decade of 10 win/ season consistency. Now they want what Auburn's got instead. WILD inconsistency.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
See where UGA,s five star qb recruit is now taking a hard look at UF. Rumor is that if he decommits he will start a landslide of decommitments.

Re: Georgia Bulldogs
Wouldn't surprise me.
I'd love to see Auburn flip a lot of those UGA commits. But as we learned from Chizik and (so far) Malzahn, having a bunch of 4 and 5 star recruits means nothing if you can't coach them.
