Early Christmas, actually.

I'll take our safeties over anybody in the conference.

Tick,

You are over by the communications building correct? That is G5 or G30? Someone kept saying C9, but I don't think that is correct.

We are probably headed over that way due to the damn engineering building demoing our current spot. Looking at grassy area from the comm bldg wall to the curb. I assume its all first come first serve.

We've been in the Media Lot going on 25 years - that is the Speech and Hearing Clinic parking lot between the clinic and the far northern tip of my old Communications bldg...directly across from gate 14.

We generally set up 3 1/2 hrs before kickoff. Everything next door behind the communications bldg facing the south end of the stadium (and you're G10) is full to the brim before we get there, so it must be "1st-come." Heh - shouldn't be a problem for you early-risers.

There goes the neighborhood!

Rivals ranked what they consider to be the Top 10 most disappointing recruiting classes in CFB over the last several years and we are in there TWICE -- for Fulmer's '05 class and Kiffin's '09 class, which had the distinction of being the #1 worst class overall.

Kenny O'Neal 5*
Brent Vinson 5*
Chris Donald 5*
BJ Coleman 4*
Donald Langely 4*
Lennon Creer 4*
Ahmad Paige 4*
Rolando Melancon 4*
Darris Sawtelle 4*

The SEC coaches have selected their Preseason All-SEC Team and the Vols had the lowest number of players of any team in the conference. Only Malik Jackson and Prentiss Waggner made the list of 1st, 2nd & 3rd teams. Vandy, by comparison, had 4 players selected. We can only hope that this will serve as a motivating factor for our team. We are going to need every advantage we can get.

Dooley needs to print a poster on the weight room and locker room walls showing the coaches preseason all-conference team. And right next to it, he should hang a poster of this...

All those guys were coached up by Fulmer - your current coaching staff just doesnt have that work like heck mentality to make the players better.

sad, really

Foster wasn't even drafted out of college. That's how good a job Fulmer did at developing his potential.

Manning and Berry were pretty much can't-miss talents. Manning credits David Cutcliffe for developing him. Berry was going to be good no matter who he played for. And I think most Vol fans were surprised to see Mayo drafted as high as he was.

Generally speaking, we have just had way too many former players whose NFL careers were more significant than their college careers under Fulmer. Foster is only the latest in a list that includes guys like David Martin, Eric Parker, Jabari Greer, Anthony Herrera, Marvin Mitchell, Omar Gaither, Parys Haralson and Gibril Wilson (all either late-rounders or undrafted) who went on to long and successful NFL careers.
