And that's your excuse for leaving the pork in the Pentagon's budget? I'm all for a strong military because it is vital to our economic interests--especially blue water navy and air power--but the Pentagon needs to have the pork taken out as soon as possible.
I said I'm okay with cutting the Pentagon budget. I'm just saying that when the budget cutting is done, you will have a lot of Air Force bases with bustling PX's, but no functioning airplanes taking off or landing, Navy bases with Olympic swimming pools but no ships putting out to sea, etc. That's not good.
puter, do I remember correctly that you own a small business? If so, I have a question: if you caught one of your employees stealing a thousand dollars from your business, would you accept the thieving employee's excuse: "Gee Mr. puterbac, this company has hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales ever year. I only stole a measly thousand from you. It's nothing compared to the money you and this company rake in. Pay no attention to the relatively small amount that I stole, worry about the REAL crooks out there, and let me get back to work, okay?" You would never accept that logic from someone stealing from your business, so I don't understand why you meekly accept politicians who steal your tax dollars in pork.If my choice is focusing 0.5% of the budget or 60% of the budget that actually matters to the debt, I take the 60% and the crumbs stay on the floor.
