I won't have a problem like that.

Definitely.

You're from California. You don't understand all that stuff. Go see your aromatherapist.

There are 33 million guns in California - that's more than Texas (22 million) and Ohio (10 million) combined.

Shoot, we have more armed illegal aliens than Kentuckians have teeth.

LOL.

At 17, I was walking through the park and was stopped by a really, really hot chick at a rally. She started talking to me about the political issues of the day and convinced me to join her organization - the Young Socialists of America. I paid the membership fee ($3.00?), filled out an application and got my membership card.

Two months later, I joined the US Navy. Reagan was POTUS. I served on a nuclear sub, I served on a sub tender that carried nuclear warheads, served as a communications officer and had a -/handled information that required an extremely high security clearance. In my office on one ship, I had access to the technical manuals of equipment that 35 years later they are only now admitting that we had and I was often alone with it - someone was supposed to secure it, but it was easier to leave it out if you were going to access it again.

For a couple of years, I wondered if anyone was going to ask me about my YSA membership. After 5 years, I figured they never bothered to look when they cleared me.
Being a socialist today is no big deal. Yer girl Debbie can't even explain the difference between a Socialist and a Democrat. A Socialist is running a close second to Hillary.

What would have happened to you when you were in the Navy and handling Top Secret information and you decided it was convenient for you to take it home and store it in your basement, and you got caught, and you lied about it?

Hilarious. I'd say there is probably zero chance Debbie ever goes on Chris Matthews show again

Then our prophet would be elected POTUS.

I'm used to seeing Chris Matthews constantly interrupt and shout down people he doesn't like (I.e. Republicans). I'm not used to seeing him treat a high-ranking Democrat official like a nasty Republican.

If I'm enlisted, I get Captain's Mast and reduction in rate if I'm lucky, administrative discharge if I'm not.

If I'm a junior officer, I get Captain's Mast, Letter of Reprimand and no recommendation for promotion, killing my career.

If I'm a senior officer, it depends on who I know and whether or not they want to cover it up.

If I'm a flag officer, someone will ask me to please don't do it again.

Do you think it's right that higher ranked people aren't held as accountable for mishandling classified information as lower ranking people?

The Navy must be different than the Army. General Petraeus was a 4 star general, but he got prosecuted for giving classified (not TS) stuff to his mistress. I bet the pickup line was, "Hey baby, I'll show you my order of battle if you show me yours."

The Army didn't prosecute Petraeus - he had retired from the army and had taken the job of DCI - it was the FBI who nailed him during his service at the CIA. The Army would have never even investigated Petraeus. Someone would have noticed that his galpal mentioned classified stuff in her book prep, they would've said something quietly to Petraeus and the galpal would've shut up.

I never get caught up on the "ought-ness" of things, I deal with the "is-ness" of things. Higher ranked people, richer people, whiter people, etc., get a different treatment. It sucks, but that's the way it is.

You guys get your panties twisted because you think OJ got away with murder and feel somehow his blackness demanded that he get convicted. I saw that OJ was able to spend FIVE MILLION DOLLARS on his attorneys and, ceteris paribus, people who can spend $5,000,000.00 on attorneys win criminal cases. That's not fair, but it is American jurisprudence.

As a Christian, I want everything to be fair and equal. As an adult with life experience, I know that is not the case.

Hillary can spend a lot more to avoid conviction of the crimes she obviously committed vs. the piddling $5 million OJ spent to avoid conviction of the crime that OJ obviously committed. That Clinton Global Initiative is loaded with Arab dough. The Saudis, Emirates and Qataris all care deeply about Women's rights.

Dude, really? You're pulling the ARAB card?

http://www.rense.com/general14/bushsformer.htm

Salem bin Laden, Osama's older brother, was an investor in Arbusto Energy. - the Texas oil company started by George W. Bush. Arbusto means "Bush" in Spanish. Salem bin Laden died in an airplane crash in Texas in 1988.[/i]

http://www.salon.com/2001/11/19/bush_oil/

George W.’s oil career started in 1978 — 12 years after his father first entered Congress — when several of his father’s friends invested in his firm, Arbusto (“Bush” in Spanish). Unlike his father, George W. spent much of his oil career in the red. As Joe Conason pointed out in Harper’s last year before the election, the company’s original investors and others bailed out his firm at least three times. But after a final act of corporate CPR — a merger with Harken Energy in 1986 — Bush’s connections to power really paid off. Two years after the merger, Abdullah Taha Bakhsh, a former director of Saudi Arabia’s income tax department, purchased an 11 percent stake in Harken through his company Traco International. That same year, Harken won a contract for oil-drilling in Bahrain.

“Harken had no international experience at the time,” says Eisner at the Center for Public Integrity, which published a detailed account of Bush’s rise to power titled “The Buying of the President: 2000.” “It was their first out of country contract.”

Press reports at the time questioned Bahrain’s motivations. Even the normally reserved Wall Street Journal reported in 1991 that the contract “raises the question of … an effort to cozy up to a presidential son.”

The Bush family countered that the contract was well deserved. Regardless, the deal in the Persian Gulf gave Bush a direct tie to the Saudi elite and set Bush on a suddenly successful path.

http://www.whitefishbaynow.com/blogs/co ... 65328.html

The Bush family [yes, THAT Bush family] has been cozy with the Saudi family, Saudi oil and other business, etc. since about 1940. Prescott Bush smuggled oil from Saudi Arabia into Nazi Germany. How's that for creative capitalism? It was against the embargo placed on Nazi Germany by the Allies. A little law never stopped the Bush family. This is how the Bush family fortune was established and fluorished.

George H.W. Bush today sits on Saudi boards. His son saw to it that America made a special effort to protect Saudi Arabia. The powerful Bush family has always encouraged Americans to ignore or look the other way concerning Saudi Arabia's horrible government and laws. Saudi Arabia is a draconian nation. It is like something out of the Middle Ages or worse. Yet we blame Palestinians, whose land was taken from them to form the nation of Israel, for their actions in the Middle East. Love the Saudis, hate the Palestinians. That is the mantra of right-wing, capitalism greed and selectivity.

The Bushes and the Arabs have oil and big money as a common interest. The Arabs are Country Club Republicans in kefiyahs. Arab money going to and from the Bushes is consistent and looks normal.

The Clintons are Democrats, and therefore supposedly hate oil, big money (except in unions and Hollywood) and love women's rights. Arab money going to and from them should be a huge embarrassment since the Arabs represent everything the Democrats despise. It's like Huckabee taking huge donations from Planned Parenthood.

China's Air Kills 4,000 People a Day but Not for Long, Say Officials - Christian Science Monitor http://www.newsjs.com/nz/air-pollution- ... -in-china/

Beijing is set to close its last coal-fired generators by 2017 and build four gas-fired power and heating plants by next year, say officials.

But what about the JOBS? If you can't eat what difference does it make if you can breathe? Where is the chinaman's Tea Party and why aren't they raising hell about this?

Speaking of, the pnn teaparty likened the recent EPA Colorado mine spill to the BP/Deepwater tragedy. Such wishful thinking came to naught, however.

Colorado's Animas River Re-Opens to Recreational Activity - AP

Nine days after 3 million gallons of mine waste spilled into the Animas River, Colorado officials, with the support of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, reopened the waterway in La Plata County to recreation and signed off on some farmers using its water for irrigation.

..by Friday the water had returned to pre-incident levels, meaning the metals like lead and cadmium were no longer potentially toxic, said David Ostrander, area commander for the Unified EPA Area Command. "This is a really great day we've been looking forward to, getting recreation and water use back on the river," Ostrander said in a conference call with reporters Friday afternoon.

A few samples tested higher than normal for lead, silver, and thallium, but the department said in a news release that the tests still showed the water ws not a risk.

Farmers who grow alfalfa and wheat are permitted to resume irrigation, but those growing green leafy vegetables have been asked to wait before irrigating. River water for livestock has also been deemed safe by the state.

"The information we have received shows that water quality levels are comparable to those prior to the spill," Dr. Carl Heckendorf, state veterinarian for the Colorado Department of Agriculture, said in a news release.

I had learned about natural oil seeps in graduate school, and I knew that they account for about 50 percent of oil that ends up in the coastal environment. That’s five times as much oil as is delivered by accidental spills.

The Santa Barbara seeps, for example emit 5,280 to 6,600 gallons (nearly 20 to 25 tons) of oil per day, and natural seeps have been active for hundreds to thousands of years. Local Native Americans used the oil to waterproof their boats. But I just didn’t appreciate how spectacular they were and what a powerful opportunity they provided to study oil spills.

Where are the headlines for Natural Oil Seeps account for 50% of oil in the coastal environment???!!
