I could be wrong but I think this election for POTUS could be a chance for a strong third party candidate to make some noise. Now it would have to be someone that could appease to both sides but if that person could get a solid running candidate, I think they could have a shot especially if the choices are Clinton / Bush. Not sure who would be the choice but if ever the time was going to happen, it could be soon.

If you get a moderate, reasonable, well-capitalized person who is willing and able to spend some absurd amount of his own money - $3-5 billion - then a third party has a shot. I'm not sure that guy exists.

I figure Trump is going to pull a Perot - at the first indication he has no shot, he'll have some reason to drop out that isn't "I'm going to lose" but "its an unfortunate situation and I have no choice to but to focus my energy on this instead of my presidential run"

but until then, I'm loving every second of him in the race.

I believe Michael Bloomberg is worth 40B. He's socially liberal and fiscally conservative which kinda makes him a moderate (although radicals left and right would likely disagree). He comes across as reasonable imo.

I think at the very least he'd have a shot.

You know what I think is moronic? Equating a human being with binoculars watching you to a drone flying over your property. You can shoot one of those things and know that a jury is not bloody likely to convict you of.... anything. Guess which one aTm? Of course, I'm not a lawyer.

Maybe. But we'll never know about Bloomberg. We might know about Trump.
