CNN Mistakes Sex Toy Flag for ISIS Flag at Gay Pride Parade

"...both Pawle and her CNN colleagues, including anchor Suzanne Malveaux, don't seem to notice that the flag actually consists of images of dildos and butt plugs, rendered in the style of ISIS. Even Pawle noted the writing on the flag wasn't in Arabic, adding "It looks like it could be gobbledygook. But it’s very distinctive, the ISIS flag.”

John Stewart will probably have a field day with that

Between SCOTUS decisions and Trump running for president, he's going out on a high note

50 years after Gettysburg, Union and Confederate soldiers meet to shake hands on the battleground

Image

As a side note, no facial hair became envogue after WWI when soldiers were told to shave so that gas masks would fit better

hows that for news bitches?

Anyhoo....

IMO, there is clear evidence that the North was 'aggressive'. I cannot fathom thinking otherwise. If they had not, it would have been a huge tactical error. But I don't think we'll ever agree on this.
How can you not fathom when it was the South that fired the first shots? At a federal installation that was under federal sovereignty?
I've kind of addressed that, spacer.

The sovereignty of that Union fort was definitely up for debate at the time -and just as I feel it would be aggressive of the Brits to arm one of his majesty's forts and send warships to resupply after we declared independence from England, I feel those actions by the Union were likewise 'aggressive'.

In essence, both used the actions (rightfully on both sides, IMO) as a Casus Belli: those who had declared independence had claim due to the invading forces and those who chose not to allow those states to secede had a claim to squelch their move for independence and bring those lands back under control.

We are being repititous; however, and further debate will likely prove unproductive.
Then you are saying that Guantanamo is owned by the Cubans and we should not be upset if Cuba fired on us. (and no, it wasn't won from the Spanish, it was created by treaty with Cuba a few years after the Spanish-American War). You can't have it both way. Either we legally have Guantanamo and the Feds had Fort Sumpter, or the reverse for both must be true. The term Indian-giver comes to mind.

The last President with a beard or moustache was Taft. No person that has announced for President this year has facial hair and the last major party nominee with facial hair I believe was Dewey

Heh. It (hopefully) shows how much better we age today than we did back then...as evidenced in the changing mortality rates in the country.

For some reason, though, that is the general visage I have of crotch in my head.

Yep, and we haven't elected a bald President since the TV era began. National politics are definitely a vanity play. I'm also convinced the GOP candidate list is now larger than an NBA team roster because their expected challenger on the DEM side is a short woman. In the TV era, I don't know if any President has been shorter than 5'11". Dukakis took hits, not only for his tank helmet photo but for a picture of a debate with Bush 41 where he was standing on a riser to make himself taller.

Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul are happy they have an opportunity to be lined up visually with a woman who's about 5' 6" on a good day.

No. I do not recognize the Cuba situation as analogous. We were given Gitmo and the other areas (that we've relinquished already) by Cuba when we signed Platt. The much better analogy is one country having a part of its territories separate and form a separate country and the issues of sovereignty and division of lands, holdings, and properties therein from the original country to the new one (eg, The Revolutionary War).

That said, does Cuba have a right to be aggrieved over Gitmo? I think so. Will we eventually cede control? Probably. Why doesn't Cuba used it as a Casus Belli? Because we would quickly obliterate them.

Re Alabama Marriage Bullshit

You need to have a definite beginning and end to a marriage for an orderly distribution of assets and assignment of liabilities when a wedding ends. If not, you will have mass confusion and arguments as to whether there was an actual marriage. How will they react when homosexuals file for divorce and all of the things that go with separations?

Sanders has enough traction on Hillary that she's sending the attacks dogs on him.

I will say - Sanders represents the kind of liberalism that I can appreciate - at least on his talking points. If you're going to pump up big government, at least do it so the little guy moves ahead.

Unfortunately I'm in the tax bracket where Sanders would look to me to help pay for it.

That will be a real test for Dooksucks as his joint marriage income rises along with his age. I predict a new era of conservatism for him once he hits about 150K a year.

Eh. Doubtful. I am already in the 28% bracket. Politics are still left of center, but I am more the centrist democratic mindset. Sanders is just as scary as extreme republicans.
