What do you taste? I don't know how I started using band-aid as a descriptor, I guess I chewed up some band-aids when I was a kid and I kinda liked the medicinal/chemical taste. Still do, so it wasn't a negative description by any means. The Lagavulin is good stuff. I think I like it even better than the pricier Macallan, of which I bought several bottles for our Christmas party year before last, much to the delight of my parent's scotch drinking set of tipplers...

No clue. North Carolina has state run liquor stores (ABC), and while they have dramatically improved their selections in the past few years, we still lag dreadfully behind free market liquor states. I would guess in Raleigh or Charlotte they have even wider selections, but still nothing like a really good wine or liquor store in, say, NYC (or probably any large city that is not under state controlled liquor sales). At any rate, "sales" at the ABC store tend to be of the $3 or $4 off variety (woo-hoo), but the Lagavulin was $10 off. Again, nothing to write home about, but enough to decide me as I perused their somewhat limited single malt scotch selection (they of course had Macallan, Glenfiddich and -Livet, Balvanie and probably a dozen others). $89 for a fifth (I think the 18 year old Macallan was twice that or maybe even more - needless to say, I bought the 12 year old Macallan for the Christmas party)...

Oh, I get what you are saying. It has a bit of a mediciney nose.

The taste, to me, has that Islay smokiness with a decent malt and pepper finish. I also get a bit of a pear/apple undertone.

Definitely get the smokiness, will check for the pear/apple. I always hesitate to say malt or peat, b/c I guess I don't really know what qualifies as characteristic for either of those, although I think I've got a pretty good idea (although I would hate to be transmogrifying them)...

I really can't stand the fact that my dog can give himself a blow job and it costs me at least $100 for one. Asshole dog.

Stu sent this to me and my brother, hard for me to believe that this if for real (the ping pong part, 55 second mark). If it is for real, it's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen...

I've always thought it was real - they put it in the movie about him as it really happening.

the boy enters the ranks of the working class. He is now employed at the fine dining establishment known as Cracker Barrel for $8.25 an hour.

At 16 I would have thought I was rich making $8 and change an hour.

I told him to not be in a hurry to get a job because quite frankly we give him everything he needs including some pocket change. What I really tried to impress upon him is once you start working, you're going to be doing it for the next 60 or so years of your life. But he's a kid and prone to do what kids do - not listen to parents.

I have to focus my attention on the daughter now anyways - her thought process is if girls who wear thongs at school are sluts, then I'm not going to wear a thong - I just won't wear underwear at all.

Not the direction I want her to go in as a dad.

I think it's good for teens to work. I put in tobacco every summer starting the summer after 8th grade. Graduated to the warehouse by the time I was a junior, that was a bit easier. Also kept score for men's league basketball down at the rec center on week nights during the season. Of course, by then, I was dealing a little weed as well. Helps build a good work ethic...

The best part of working at the tobacco warehouse was the time that I was sitting on a pile of tobacco sheets one day and Stu was walking towards me. Stu has an inordinate fear of insects (and birds), and I saw some type of huge cicada-like flying bug hovering around behind him. Somehow this bug went up the back of Stu's shirt and he went into convulsions of terror, took off running and screaming while simultaneously ripping his shirt off. I've never seen him move so fast...

Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee privately sparred numerous times on the movie set. Chuck was always very gracious about those meetings and refused to discuss the winner of those matches in a very "aww shucks" fashion that makes me think that he won. Chuck is fairly modest and I truly believe he would say "Bruce win" if that were the case.

It would have been great if those sparring matches were filmed.
