I recall them beating UF in OT in 1998 and winning the East, and winning a few other things that season.

1998: UT 17 - UF 14 TN wins East, SECCG, and National Championship 14-0

Opening Day and the entire site has crickets chirping - yes I still miss WorldCrashing, cnnsi, the Peoples Forum and the times the accompanied it. Am overseas with AA's cousins and will miss tonights nail biter against NewMexSt - big weekend of gaelic football and hurling over here so I'll wear my colors and pretend its an SEC game.
