Basically if you don't count each of our two championship tourny runs, Roy has won 18 tourny games since 2005 to K's 10. And losing in the first round 3 times? That's fucking awful. Granted, Carolina has lost in the second round a few times (and were relegated to the NIT one year), but that's not the same as losing in the first freaking round of the tourny THREE times. Bottom line is, winning a championship erases a lot of bad memories. Here's hoping Roy and the Heels do some erasing next year...

He's a legend there. He's not selling his home. He'll retire back there. I don't blame him. Relax for 6 years if lucky and then retire.

When Harrison Barnes picked UNC over Duke right after Carolina's 2nd title in 5 years, it looked like the beginning of the end for K and Duke and an extended period of dominance for UNC. UK was dealing with Billy Clyde and Roy had another top recruiting class coming in. Since then, it has all gone downhill for UNC while Duke has 2 titles and UK has 1 and looks to be part of the Final Four every year as long as Cal is there.

Now Duke has won its 2nd title in 5 years, landed a top recruit over UNC and has reasserted itself as the marquee program in college hoops. Here's to hoping they'll be eating shit for the next 5 years now.

But I agree that Roy is still stuck in the Dean mode of developing freshmen. I guarantee you that Berry and Pinson and Jackson would have gotten a lot more minutes playing at UK last year than he gave them. Jackson might be really good but he wasn't given a chance to flourish until late in the season

When are you going to flourish?

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

I remember making that Hilter video saying "UNC returns all players from a final four team" - damn...those were the days for you guys.

you're longing for those Tubby Smith years I bet

on a side note, we didn't even get the 3* kid - he committed to NC St.

Tubby is a great guy but an average coach. Never have been a huge fan of Calipari. Looking forward for the Bruce Pearl era at Kentucky :D

"I remember making that Hilter video saying "UNC returns all players from a final four team" - damn...those were the days for you guys."

I kinda feel like that's what we have coming back next year. Granted, it wasn't a FF team, but it was a team that took one of the eventual finalists (a team that knocked off mighty Kentucky) down to the wire and honestly a team that I thought was going to win that game. No doubt this year's team was not the same caliber as the 2008 team (3 solid NBA players and one legitimate NBA star), but I think the talent and experience level of what we'll have next year is going to be more than any other team. We'll see how good the incoming freshman class will be for some other teams, but so far I don't see an Okafor or Towns or Wiggans or any of the other superstars out there coming in this year. And Roy has always done his best with experienced guys who know the system. We'll see, but to me this is certainly going to be a FF or bust kind of season for us...

There may be, but I doubt anybody is going to have the caliber of quality, depth and experience we will. Of course, that doesn't automatically translate into anything unless we produce on the court, but it makes for a pleasant off-season...
