Universities is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream.
When will they start turning out some authentic curiosity seekers w/o an agenda? Remember when no stone went unturned looking for little pebbles in the past (being a pilot in the NG) to discredit the candidate? Didn't there used to be a "journalism" major?
They're just narrative writers now.

I know why you're worried. You think Hillary will gin up some kind of Middle Eastern war, the MSM will go along with it, and we'll be bogged down militarily there for God-knows how long.
lmao....I believe congress got chances to vote for it, then be against it, and.....never mind, yer an idgit.
But, the ONE wants to give nukes to the Eye-ranians all by himself.

If a war starts on Hillary's watch she will:
a. blame it on a video
b. say she didn't know anything about it until she read it in the paper
c. say "what difference does it make NOW?"
....and the press will nod and go print something about CEO's making 300 times what their employees make.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton dubbed herself the “probably the most transparent person in public life” during a speech in Philadelphia in 2008.
“I think I’m probably the most transparent person in public life…I feel you know a lot more about me than you know about anyone else. Much of it untrue, but nevertheless, it’s all out there” she said.

#1 is an adjunct. You don't really "fire adjuncts. But okay.Professor Tiger wrote:http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/ ... sexuality/AlabamAlum wrote:Well, you don't interrupt class, but at most liberal colleges that I know of you can speak your mind. #2 didn't work for a university; he worked for a liberal think group.
#3 isn't really sure why he was fired, he thinks it was for climate chance, but then he mentions 'new world order' and other such things which makes me think that may be a righteous firing.
#4 the YouTube video shows a prof taking a sign from NON student protestors. They called the police. Don't know what happened later.
#5 the college official DID act improperly and the courts have allowed a suit to go forward.
#6 is from an accrediting body that may not accredit you if you have anti-gay policies (drop the secular accreditation and go with the whacko religious accreditation).
#7 violated school policy for groups; they would not accept students as a full voting member if you were gay or whatever. They sued and lost.
#8 is silly. I've talked about that one before. He should not have been fired.

The PAH will probably do it, whereas Obama won't. She's got balls.I know why you're worried. You think Hillary will gin up some kind of Middle Eastern war, the MSM will go along with it, and we'll be bogged down militarily there for God-knows how long.
Like you I am dead set against nation building and being the world's policeman, but I am not willing to risk New York or LA. Not now, and not 10 years from now.

I would be LMAO at this mewling little screed if it weren't so pathetic. Mainly b/c it's coming from you, a stout defender of the mother church, which for centuries (aye, millennia) has tortured and murdered their enemies for even the slightest "blaspheme" against their fucked up dogma. Your church has been the mortal enemy of every attempt at progress and freedom throughout history, and yet you now blithely complain about some bullshit on college campuses? What a fucking hypocrite. I would think you would admire such intolerance, but I see that instead you're just jealous. Don't worry, the mother church may be on the decline (thank god), but it'll be at least a few more centuries before it is completely dead. And by that time, you'll have been completely dead yourself for a very long time....Professor Tiger wrote:If you think liberal Newspeak/political correctness allows such things as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace, then I suggest you attend any major secular college and stand up in class and say, "abortion is murder" or "homosexuality is immoral" or "the science of global warming is far from settled." After you awake from your tazing in the county jail, you'll feel the liberal love for diversity of thought and the free exchange of ideas.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
#8 a prof took a piece of paper and wrote Jesus on it and asked the students to do so as well. He then stood on he paper and asked the students to do the same. There is a lesson there on the power of symbols and how we view them. Certainly the paper is not holy and there are a gazillion Hispanic men named Jesus, but our own belief structure may elevate the paper into something more than what it is.....Anyway. The story went that some students refused (fine), but one student of the group of dissenters said he was 'suspended' for not doing the exercise (which was found to be poppycock). The prof wasn't fired and that got some religious folks in a tizzy.

Hedge,
I love religion. I've visited more "holy" places than most believers. I make it a point in my travels. While religion has been a vehicle for atrocities throughout our existence; I believe we humans would have found a reason to kill and imprison each other even without justification from our god(s).

hedge, you're just bitter because, your whole life, Christians have forced you to attend church, pay tithes, get baptized, swear allegiance to Jesus, and abstain from alcohol, dancing and porn. After the way Christianity has imposed its will on you, no wonder you're so pissed off.hedge wrote:I would be LMAO at this mewling little screed if it weren't so pathetic. If you want to go back to the Middle Ages to cite barbaric behavior by Christians against non-Christians, I will probably agree with you. But If I go back to the barbaric behavior in the past century against religious people by the atheist Joseph Stalin, the atheist Chairman Mao, and the atheist Pol Pot, you will cry like a little girl and deny their barbarisms against religious people had nothing to do with their atheism. Which is like saying that Hitler's barbarisms against the Jews had nothing to do with anti-Semitism.

Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot weren't religious, but they would have killed just as many without religion as an excuse.

We'll never know. Stalin's people just looked at a bearded man in a black cassock with a cross around his neck, and said, "You're a priest. Put your hands on that wall."
BANG.
They probably didn't ask him about anything else.

Sigh...
Stalin killed religious, non religious, friend and foe. He was an equal opportunity murderer.

And, likewise, I cast no stones at Catholicism because Hitler was raised a devout catholic and references the "almighty" in Mein Kamph.

I don't blame modern atheists for the crimes committed by Stalin, Mao and Pot. It's just a rhetorical argument against hedge whenever he tries to blame modern Christians for the crimes committed by Medieval popes.
