Tired of this snow... some places between Lex and Elzabethtown got almost 2 feet of snow last night.. We got about 8 and it's still snowing. Been out shoveling all morning.. too hard for this old geezer to do. The pic above reminds me of when I was about 8 years old and it snowed about a half an inch the night before Easter. The next morning, Mom went out and hid the eggs that I had colored the night before and I found every one of them in record time... I just followed her footsteps in the snow.. :D I ain't no dummy.

Saw where hundreds were stranded on I-65 for 20+ hours. Not exactly the Donner Party, but being trapped that long in a white-out would probably shake your faith a little bit.

yea..whenever winter starts I throw a couple of sleeping bags in the back of the car, a long burning candle and a box of peanut butter-n-crackers.

Hell, I get stuck on I-65 when the weather is good

Just learned this morning that my mom's day nurse is Adrien Broners niece. Makes tonight more interesting.

FWIW... today is my 35th wedding anniversary. The wife decided to celebrate a little early by slipping on the ice yesterday evening and breaking her ankle in 2 places. Was in the ER during the UK/Fla game. She kept making the ER nurse give her updates... was more concerned about the streak than her ankle.

I'm guessing probably a month or so... Seeing the orthopedic surgeon at 8:30 tomorrow morning. Not sure if they have to put pins in or just a cast.. Looks as if the housework chores will be mine for a few weeks..

Heh... funny you should say that. That the first thing the ER nurse said to me... (both my wife and I had her as a student in school)

"FWIW... today is my 35th wedding anniversary."

Congrats, Crotch. What is this, your 3rd or 4th marriage? Keep marrying them young, you can get the that kind of mileage out of all of them (clearly you have so far)...

A buddy of mine and his wife came down for the game this weekend, they have lived in NYC since he graduated from UNC (going on 30 years now). When he first got up there, he worked for Paul Tudor Jones. He regaled us with stories of from those days, most of them would have fit quite nicely as scenes in The Wolf of Wall Street...

I had a dream last night that I was banging a hot 24 year old. When I woke up I felt dirty knowing that she's only 6 years older than my oldest daughter. Still, I'm ready for a nap.

Yeah, I could imagine. Tudor also printed money for, like, 25 years. I think, until 2012, they had never experienced a down year since 1990, or something. When I first came up here it was with Bankers Trust. The old schoolers used to tell us how much things had changed from back in the day. It was still all good for me, then SOX hit. That was the beginning of the end.

I always say that if I was here in the 80s I would be making a lot more money. The downside is that my suits would be horrid and I would have to wear my hair like George Jefferson. In life there are trade offs.

Sometimes you have to make those trades to move up like George and Wheezy...

I'm watching this documentary on PTD right now, he is a nut. Clearly doing blow pretty much the whole time (although not like in the movies where you're obviously completely jacked, but still, you can tell (or I can, anyway)). It appears that their whole trading model in the 80's was based on the fact that the graphs from the 1920's matched up with what was going on. They were basically betting that the markets in the 80's would duplicate (almost to the tick) what it did in the 1920's. That doesn't seem like a sound trading strategy to me...

I used to work for a paper mill back in the 90's.

The head honcho there would talk about the demise of newspapers and say that there will always be newspapers and magazines because you can't take a computer with you when you take a shit

I thought about him as I just spent 20 minutes taking a dump, looking at reddit on my smart phone.

btw, he lost his job in 2001 and opened up a quizno's in Sharonville.

I guess he went at the whole taking a shit from a different angle.
