Mom called me last week from Memphis - it was 25 degrees at lunchtime there and 87 degrees in LA. She let me buy her a ticket that night and will be out here until Mother's Day.

Not that my wife is thrilled about it, but I put up her with her mom all the time . . .
During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

Much cheaper to buy her a R/T ticket to come here than to buy 5 R/T tix for the Mrs., the kids/grand and myself. No hotel costs, no restaurant bill for 12 (with booze), no putting up with my other relatives there. Plus, I knockout 2 holidays (Easter and Mother's Day), so I'm off the hook for Thanksgiving and X-Mas if she doesn't come out here.

Doc, I was making a very rare drive down I-75 last week and, in your honor, stopped at the Tifton Shoney's. Even took a picture out front. I'll post it here once I figure out how. Stay tuned.

One thing that hasn't changed on I-75 between Macon and Valdosta - lots and lots of billboards advertising adult stores and message parlors. How did South GA become such a brazen red light district?

I assumed South Georgia has MANY Southern Baptists that would have easily kept the kibosh on that sort of thing. Maybe it's like alcohol - something the Baptists detest in public but savor in private.

Yes. Little or no construction.

Unlike Tennessee, where the orange barrell should be on the state flag.

I was in Macon two weeks ago for a church conference. I flew in to ATL and drove down. I was surprised by the weather (freezing), the food (awful) and the strip clubs (abundant).

I would think anywhere you've visited, there would be no eats left at all, good or otherwise...
I want someone's ass blistered in the middle of Thanksgiving Square.
