Re: College Football
Belichick's just gave a 15 minute description on how balls can deflate due to barometric pressure, temperature and time.
It was comical coming from a guy that hates to talk

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Re: College Football
This whole thing started with the NFL leaking to ESPN about the balls. The Colts said they were told before the game. It seems that the NFL is looking for a way to get back at the Pats for all their bullshit in the past. they're like an ex who shows up unexpectedly with a facelift and new implants and the NFL has a sparkling new mistress in the Seahawks with their state-of-the-art stadium, trendy color scheme, loud fans and exciting young QB. The NFL could settle in for a 3-4 year run by the Seahawks but here come the grubby Pats and their unmarketable coach and penchant for cheating.
What better way to fuck up their SB experience than to create a firestorm of a distraction the week before?
There's no way the NFL can or will prove the balls were intentionally deflated and this would never be an issue with any other team.

Re: College Football
even for this I read where Superbowl ticket sales took a hit right after the Colts/Bengals game because people are just tired of the Patriots.
The great thing about the NFL is its enforced parity and the Patriots are killing it.

Re: College Football
speaking of which, Gordon has got to be one of the stupidest MF'ers on the planet - that or the guy is seriously addicted to the hard stuff.................
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has failed another drug test and now will be subject to a one-year suspension, according to league sources.
Gordon tested positive for alcohol, a source said, confirming a report by Pro Football Talk. The failed test is the latest in a long line of setbacks for Gordon, whose future in Cleveland and the NFL now will be in question.
Gordon was arrested on July 5, 2014, and charged with driving while impaired after speeding down a street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Gordon was previously suspended for the first two games of the 2013 season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Gordon ended this season in controversy when, on Dec. 27, he was suspended for the final game for violating team rules. He would have been suspended for all of 2014 were it not for a new drug testing and punishment policy the NFL implemented that allowed him to return after missing the first 10 games.

Re: College Football
Well, the Seahawks are doing their part to destroy the notion of parity, too. But a Pats win is probably the last thing the NFL wants to see, hence my theorem, which I came to without the aid of crack. But Rat if you're offering, I'm up for a bowlful or 5.eCat wrote:even for this I read where Superbowl ticket sales took a hit right after the Colts/Bengals game because people are just tired of the Patriots.

Re: College Football
Watched the highlight shows of Super Bowl XIV (LA-Pit) through XXII (Was-Den) last night. The Bengals pretty much gave XVI to the Niners. Nice fumble, Collingsworth. Also, how did Rich Karlis have a job in Den. after missing 2 first-half FGs vs. the Giants?
Two observations: shoulder pads were much bigger back then and half the shit that went on would be a penalty today.

Re: College Football
goodell and kraft are supposed to be best buds
brady is glamour boy
giselle is glamour girl
they are expecting the tv audience to be a record
I dont think the nfl is crying about new england being in the super bowl
deflategate was the best thing to happen to this superbowl
when your the second story after the state of the union on NBC nightly news and when you are attracting a lot of casual observers because of something this stupid
to quote sombody else--the oinly thing left after the nuclear holocast will be cockroaches and the NFL

I don't really see anything wrong with the commissioner of the league hobnobbing with his bosses...

But, it is good every now and then to remind everybody that Goodell is the boss of the owners (or, they hire him...which makes him their employee...I keep forgetting) and does not represent the players in any real way.
The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

Re: College Football
shouldn't the other owners be pissed at Kraft for his team cheating their way to the superbowl though?
(ok, I don't really believe it was a difference maker, but still....)

Dude cost himself so much money. He missed 10 games, but 6 games makes a season for Players Free Agency purposes. His suspension for that last game cost him millions more...outside of and including the money he lost on the suspended games themselves.eCat wrote:Gordon ended this season in controversy when, on Dec. 27, he was suspended for the final game for violating team rules. Re: College Football
I think a bunch of them are pissed. They just don't all seem to be pissed at the same time to make a difference over the years. Having almost all of the teams in the L participating in a Super Bowl over the last 20 years probably mitigates things, unlike the NBA where Mark Cuban and Dan Gilbert revolted over the Lakers getting Chris Paul.eCat wrote:shouldn't the other owners be pissed at Kraft for his team cheating their way to the superbowl though?
