GoT, Silicon Valley and True Detective are what keep me around (BE until it ended, too)

Doesn't that ChromeTV thingamajig allow you stream stuff from your Chrome browser to whatever TV you plug it into?

I've got a cheap little streaming box downstairs and a more expensive Roku upstairs. For torrents we download, I use my son's Windows laptop b/c it's got an HDMI port. my macbook Pro doesn't and the cheap adaptor I bought for it won't work (b/c ostensibly Apple doesn't want it to work).

I think we're going to drop (expanded basic) cable and then just add some channels via Hulu or something. I just haven't done it because although I don't watch that many channels, I still like to come home and flip through the channels.

Chromecast will stream anything off a droid device using an app called Allcast. Out of the box it will stream netflix, Amazon prime - stuff like that.

Not sure how it interacts with the chrome browser but I think they are connected as well.

You have to download a thing called Google Cast Extension to make it work with a laptop browser. you can play HBO Go or Netflix or YouTube with it, although I have YouTube and Netflix on my streaming device now

just watched American Sniper.

Its pretty much what I expected - Its a good movie, really good in terms of realistically showing war I think, but I don't see any academy awards from it - mainly because there aren't many scenes where Bradley has a long monologue

I enjoy my Roku stick I purchased. There is a channel and client you add to your PC called Plex I believe. You tell it what folder your PC has movies and it will stream those and even download the artwork for it.

My Roku does netflix and all that also and with my TV USB port, I didn't need to run another power source for it. Works well.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

also watched Top Five.

if you watch that movie, I think its easy to see why Chris Rock got divorced after it came out

its basically a "I hate marriage and being married to you" documentary

I lived just down the hall from him in college. I don't remember if I ever spoke to him. I know that when I first saw him on TV, he looked familiar but I couldn't figure out why.

That's what I'm told. My buddies who were in the business school all knew him.

Did anyone watch Fargo and True Detective?

I just read that Fargo won over True Detective for best mini-series at the golden globes

I saw TD, not Fargo. True Detective is probably too meandering of a story to win a Globe. I liked the show, mostly off the strength of the performances. The storyline was a bit plodding.

Funny on acting classmates. While Cletus was cloistered across town in the land of high end stores, African bootleg sunglass stands, simply decent parties and the guy who was Jennifer Garner's nerd friend in 'Alias', I was matriculating with Anthony Anderson, Taraji Henson, Laz Alonzo, Cockroach from Cosby Show and Marlon Wayans. What we lose in star quality, we make up in sheer volume.

Puffy dropped out right when I got there, I think...or maybe he was there for a semester, I'm not sure

Yes. In my opinion, Fargo was much better than TD. I liked TD but I thought it really lost a lot of steam after that amazing drug house shoot out scene. I watched to the end but, by that point, I was watching out of obligation rather than enjoyment.

TD was great for most of it but it's problem was that it set itself up for an ending that it could never deliver. Nothing could. So by the time you got there and realized it wasn't going to be like that, it was almost a disappointment. That having been said, the journey to the final episode was probably the best TV I've ever watched. MM was spectacular but Alexandria Daddario's tits were moreso.

I was told Fargo was good roughly in the middle of it but I didn't find a service that could show me the eps from the beginning
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.
