Ugh - my 11 year old has been out for the last 7 school days with the flu. He got the damn shot too.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Ducks' best player on defense (Ifo, cornerback) done with a torn ACL. I hate it for him because he seems like a quality young man but it definitely helps our offense. He's supposed to be a really good run stopper too.
If we can run the ball effectively I really like our chances. I foresee a game similar to GT...trade shots for a bit until we establish the run, giving our defensive coaching staff time to make adjustments on the sidelines.
It also looks like Nile Lawrence-Stample might be able to give us 10 or 15 reps at NG, which would be huge for us. He's a mountain in the middle and would force a change in UO's run attack gameplan. He certainly won't be anywhere near 100% but if he can effectively take up space, we'll need him. Remember how crippled our defense was in the MNC game when Timmy was out for a few plays at a time due to the flu?

Thats good news on the injury front (for us)
I think NLS is going pro after next year anyway - so we may as well get some use out of him the next two games.

It was reported yesterday that Goldman (and Darby FWIW) will be going pro, not sure about NLS...he might have a better chance to shine next year and make himself some money. It's assumed that Mario Edwards will be gone as well. It's funny - in the Bowden years we hardly ever lost any juniors to the draft, this year we could lose a bunch to go along with last year's losses.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
I meant he would go pro after next season - some folks were worrying that playing him for a few snaps late this season would burn a year - I dont think we have 2 more years anyway - may as well let one of them be for a shot at the NC

He doesn't have a shot at a medical redshirt anyway since he's already redshirted. Playing him won't change anything there.

Once again, there is insufficient evidence to find Winston guilty of anything. The CoC hearing is really the lowest standard of proof he'll face. I suspect she'll end up suing the University and not Winston, with the hopes of a settlement. It'll be interesting if they just pay her a quarter mil or so just to get this whole thing behind them.

Will just be seen as part of the cover-up by most of the morons in the media and other fans.
You have a police dept w/ no love lost for the football team, a states attorney with certainly no love lost for the football team and an independent judge all saying nothing to see here, but that wont be the message most get.

Wow. To borrow one of AA's phrases, this game is a prison rape.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
that was pretty embarrassing - hope all the young guys learn from this and rededicate themselves to work harder for the next season
I thought that non-call against the ducks in the second quarter when O'Leary was mugged in the end zone was the start of the down fall - too many early trips to the red zone with no tds gave Oregon time to get their game in sync
that and all the poor tackling by our guys
maybe we can make it back to the final 4 next year

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Well said, BBB, thought I didn't really feel like it was embarrassing. Oregon's offense is just really, really good and turning the ball over 4 out of 5 possessions to start the second half is never going to beat a good team. Then we had to go for the strip on every play and tackling became non-existent. We moved the ball well; if we could have held onto the ball we probably lose by 10.
Frankly it's crazy how well the season when when you consider that we lost 8 players off last year's squad that STARTED in the NFL at some point this year. Over a third of our starters...ask Auburn how difficult it is to maintain when you lose a few key starters.
