that bear bowed down to the mee-ow!

I like the way the cat chased it about 15-20 ft., slapping the the flank with its claws, after the bear tucked tail and fled. that's one thing I like about cats. they'll add a little whupass lagniappe just because they like it.

Juvenile black bears are not vicious. Never have been.

Not if I move to the Philippines. Five zeroes and you're rich over there. Hell, four zeroes...

He was coming to NC today, but that obviously got delayed. He'll probably come next weekend, if he's still alive...

I was reading the transcripts of his trial again this morning while cleaning out some file cabinets I have.

After coming back from being in some pretty brutal combat in New Guinea, his group was assigned MP duty as a reward - he said fuck that, and he and another guy went back into the jungle and lived with the natives. Old man was wearing a loin cloth and the whole 9 yards. When it was time for them to go back into combat, he showed up to report for duty and they tossed him in the clink. Gave a jap POW his bed, he got pissed about sleeping on the floor, broke out , stole a Colonels jeep and rejoined his group - got arrested again, broke out again and went back to the native girl he was poking, and subsequently started raiding army supply trucks to feed the village because they were starving. They went after him and eventually he had a court martial - was sentenced to 5 years hard labor - they were more or less ambivalent about him fucking native girls but stealing a colonels jeep got his ass in a sling.

I found out all this after he died. He never mentioned a word of it.

He also did a lot of real soldier shit but that's another story.

Awesome. That would make a pretty decent movie.

Damn, that's a helluva story. It kind of sucks that he didn't pull you aside when you were 15 or so and say, "Look, son, you might think I'm a hard-assed sonofabitch, but I've done some fucking crazy shit that someday when you're a balding, paunchy tech guy making six figures, you'll wish you had done. So quit your fucking whining and start splitting that cord of wood and I'll tell you how wet a Phillipino girl's pussy can get if you know what you're doing."

That could have changed your life.

Stephen Ambrose was actually researching a story about the group my dad was with with the intent to write a book about them when he died.

Dope assed story. It has a old-schooled, James Coburn kinda flair to it.

yea, I would have liked to have watched Apocalypse Now with him just to see his reaction.

I can't help but think of him every time I see that scene with Marlon Brando

but the old man was more about getting pussy as his motivator.

he was stealing food to feed them because he knocked her up.

What makes you think it wasn't him?

Wasn't there some recent movie where an Anglo dude moves in with a tribe and he starts banging the chicks and spreads white man disease and the whole tribe dies?

Yes, it's very likely that eCat has a number of siblings in the Philippines. I wonder if they like basketball....
