We'll take Muschamp as a defensive coordinator. Chizik too, for that matter. They both sucked as HC's, but were excellent DC's. Plus, they both know their way around the campus and athletic department building.

I cringe when I remember that Muschamp was the peoples' choice favorite to replace Tuberville. Muschamp is probably asking himself, "I left the heir-apparent job at Texas for THIS?"

For the Florida job, forget about Bob Stoops. There's already a Big Game Bob in the SEC and his name is Mark Richt. Mullen is the obvious choice. Florida ties, and is currently riding a big wave of current success. Anybody who can make Miss. State an SEC and national contender must know what he is doing. Him or Paul Johnson, who AA calls "The best head coach in America."

" Clemson's head coach is quite familiar with the SEC. He is a Birmingham native who played and coached at Alabama. Swinney, 44, has proven he is a terrific recruiter, and Clemson — currently 7-3 — has won 10 games during each of the past three seasons."

While he has done fairly well at Clemson, maybe he takes the chance to jump before Tiger fans get tired of not getting over on FSwho and Carolina.

I would have zero problem w/ Dabo going to Hogtown - that should tell you all you need to know.

Dabo is not a smart man. A decent coach, but....I dunno.

I would pick Gundy off of that list and wouldn't be surprised if that's the hire. He may have realized he won't be able to keep Ok State in contention year in and year out unlike when some other teams came after him.

What? Richt isn't on the long list for a premium coaching job? Funny how he never is.

I Wonder if Muschamp regrets not hanging around Texas a little longer. It's better to be the coach of Texas than not the coach of Florida.

I don't know. He'll get millions of dollars to not do anything. Sign me up.

$2M a year for 3 years guaranteed, no work required. I could handle that.
Shanahan is on record that he doesn't want to coach College. At 62 and out of the college game for 30 years, I agree.
Kelly reportedly does not like coaching in the pros, but getting him would mean waiting until late January.

I'm glad to see they fought the good fight and didn't roll over. This team finished the same way it started, a solid defense with an offense that couldn't sustain ball control drives against quality opponents. Thankfully the one exception to that form was the game that mattered most.

Our limited chance of stealing this game died when those last 2 interceptions couldn't be run back for touchdowns. You just knew the offense would not punch it in on their own. On to a lesser bowl and a better offense next year.

You said it right GG but, once they saw the inside runs were going nowhere, any coach with imagination would have tried to go outside. And why did all his passes have to be glong, what is wrong with 8 to 12 yard completions?

Agree. Especially about winning the most important game. Beating Georgia. FSU is not our rival.
