...so basically, she threatens to divorce her husband to get "date nights" out of him because he is spending all his free time with their children and not her. Classic feminist imperative right there. Whenever I see a liberal complain about Christians controlling the laws in this country I am about to go ballistic because I know that is NOT true. If ours was truly a Christian nation with laws set up the way Christ would have them, no wife would be able to threaten to blow up her marriage and collect cash and prizes at her husband's expense just because she is not happy.

Best criticism I heard of the Obama foreign policy was Boehner's statement that Dubya would've punched Putin in the nose if he had pulled this Ukraine business while a Republican was in office.

Apparently John Boehner has no recollection whatsoever of when Russia invaded Georgia in 2008

For everybody else, killing Bin Laden and ending two ground wars (while not starting any new ones) hardly ranks as failure. A weak recovery is still a recovery, and our borders have been open long before you were born.

Bush, otoh, owns 9/11 and the clusterfuck known as the Iraq War. He presided over the Great Recession. All the other stuff he did or didn't do amounts to squat compared to those three. Dubya's infamous legacy is assured and is already in the books, even if in retirement he somehow learns to paint inside the lines.

There you have it, the epitome of a blameless high-minded lib. Nothing they do can fail, (just didn't spend enough money) it's all in their good intentions.....lmao.

Walker would be a solid candidate. He took on the full force of the most powerful arm of liberalism - public employee labor unions - and lived to tell the tale. If I were him, I'd still have a deputy start my car and taste my food for awhile.

Dubya won his governorship in '98 with 68% of the vote. Oprama won his senate seat in 2000 with 70%. Major presidential contenders bring those kind of big winning margins from their home states.

Walker otoh barely survived a re-call and he squeaked by last night with 52% of the Wisconsin vote. Just sayin'

JD, what's your assessment of Tim Scott, the first African American elected to the senate from the Deep South since Reconstruction?

About the same as my assessment of Ward Conerly, a ventriloquist's dummy, bought and paid for at an early age, with no connection to the black community other than his skin tone. A less shrewd version of J. Kenneth Blackwell.

Contrast that to Bobby McDonald, head of the Orange County Black Chamber of Commerce, a Reagan Republican - a man I can respect even though we are miles apart on many issues.

Or Acquanetta Warren, Mayor of Fontana, CA (the southern California home of the KKK) - an ultra conservative member of the GOP Central Committee who, again, I respect even though we don't ever see eye-to-eye.

Or even my son in the ministry, who was a GOP candidate for State Senate in Alabama.

The difference between them and Tim Scott? Identification with the black community and "traditional" black issues such as fair access to education, housing and employment, as well as the ability to point out and address racism even while holding on to conservative values.

Colin Powell, Michael Steele, Tom Sayles, Jendayi Frazer - there are some tolerable Black conservatives. Tim Scott isn't one of them.

Not that Walker isn't a winner and an impressive politician, but Wisconsin ain't exactly one of the bluest states. Republicans served as Governor there from 1987-2003. Remember Tommy Thompson?

Bluer States: Hawaii, Washington, California, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, & Maryland. Arguably Pennsylvania and Oregon too.

Admittedly though there is a prgressive streak in the state's politics that goes back to Robert La Follette

Nope. I checked. Kasich won 86 out of 88 counties in Ohio. The only two counties to vote for Fitzgerald were Athens (hippy college town) and Monroe (no clue on that one).

Cleveland, Youngstown, Akron, Canton...typical Democrat strongholds all voted Kasich

Hello -the comparison also included dubya's 68% winning margin in TX. Dubya succeeded a dem (Ann Richards), so it's not like his landslide was in a traditional red state.

But then you also ignored the part about Walker's recall (48% of Wisc was in favor). Or at least I'm giving you credit for ignoring it...ahem...

So yeah, bring on your boy Scott Walker....half his state wanted him recalled, but he definitely stands out next to Donald Trump and Michelle Bachmann.
