Saw "Gone Girl" this past Sunday. Enjoyed it, too.

Re: UCLA Bruins
Will see "John Wick" Thursday. Expect another in depth review on that, too.

It's not a chick flick, if you're talking "Gone Girl" - some nudity/sex scenes a bloody, murder and language. A bit silly in a few spots but it earns its high Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Re: UCLA Bruins
I just watched a presentation online from one of the Motley Fool Advisors
The internet killed bookstores when Amazon came online.
The internet killed CD/Records when MP3's came online
The internet killed brick and mortar stock brokers when investing went online
The internet killed newspapers when news went online
The internet photo processing when picture sharing went online
Cell phones killed landlines when cell phones went nationwide
people are conditioned to get access to content when they want it, how they want it and where they want it
so whats the next victim of this trend? The internet is going to kill cable TV.
Of the top 20 shows on cable TV, you can get 17 of them for free online now and for a fraction of your cable bill you can subscribe to online services cafeteria style to round out whatever specific viewing needs you have. When we switched over from analog to digital formats in 2009, it didn't just mean we all had to get new TV's - the TV's is also a dinosaur btw - it meant that all content could be delivered to a variety of platforms and viewers - and it marked a significant change on how we could see content.
Comcast, Time Warner , Dish and DTV are going to be dead men walking stocks like newspapers were a decade ago.
They didn't give a specific timeline but they quoted one of the heads of cable TV giving a speech at a convention of media providers and he said that within the next 3 years, cable consumers are going to say enough is enough , and 83% of new households will be considered "cord never" meaning they've never experienced owning cable TV just like the last generation of new homeowners don't have land lines.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Re: UCLA Bruins
Comcast also provides Internet. It's the satellite providers that are fucked.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

Re: UCLA Bruins
true but they are going to see significantly reduced revenue from people not subscribing to both.

Re: UCLA Bruins
No they won't. They will just jack up the internet only price to the point where if you get the double play or triple play it is only 10.00 more to have basic cable services and they still win.
Also I watched that and Fuck You for that time share bullshit presentation that doesn't even tell you the 3 stocks they want you to invest in. Nice infomercial you dick!!
With that being said, unless someone like Google can get fiber all over the major populated areas and/or start buying up little regional companies that are doing the work now for them, the Comcasts of the world will be around for quite some time. With that being said, I use Metronet in our little town. A couple of years ago they started running fiber in our town and offering service. There is another one in Bloomington that has been doing it for some time also.

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I'm not sure Comcast would have bought TWC if they didn't have a plan for the future.

This whole conversation occurred, to an extent, in the Andreessen interview I posted in FSU.
The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

Re: UCLA Bruins
yet another reason why I love the internet.
I'm sure most of you have seen this video before - sadly , if you grew up in the country, you knew people like this but the video is unintentionally hilarious

While I was searching for this I found two girls made a parody video of it

That first video is hilarious. What's the backstory?
