It doesn't make sense because you are man and you would never do this to your wife with friends of yours. You are a moral agent. What I've noticed over the years (with business travel and men taking their wives) is that when the wives get to go....
  • they brag to their single girl friends
  • they get drunk
  • their single friends admit drunk that they never get to take vacations because.... well, they are single and they spend all their money check to check
  • your wife has some sisterly solidarity with the single coworker friends and tells them that SURE they can come on the trip (partially out of pity) but mostly because its a joke
  • the single broke co-worker girl friends don't catch on that it was a joke and they take them up on it
  • your wife figures its okay without even thinking about you

Do you even know many chicks?
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

Have about 50 of them live in your house for a long weekend, come home from work and see what they do to the place, and you get to ask me that question again...

That story of his encounter with his AARP fan club never gets old. Can you believe he kicked out a bunch of pot smoking grandmas?

As far as I know only one of them had a red dress and a purple hat (or is it the other way around?)

At this point, I think it's a matter of artistic license...

It was 38 degrees when I got up this morning. Cold enough to put a log in the chiminea for my morning ritual of coffee and a cigar on the patio.

It's now 48. Just perfect. Love this time of year.

its great isn't it? There is still enough daylight in the evening to enjoy the weather.

went to a festival yesterday bought sorghum molasses and local honey, then stopped at a farmers market and got the last tomato's of the season and a bag of apples.

We're going to have fresh bread rolls, butter and sorghum with dinner.

Homecoming dance was last night for the kids.

I love fall. I wish it were longer and more consistent in the south, though. While it was 30's when I got up today, with a high of 68 or whatever. We will have several more days where we hit 90. Hate when summer comes creepin' 'round my back stairs after the start of fall.

I have like 17 mature maple trees on my property. One is already solid yellow, another is red - most of them are silver maples which don't have any fall colors, but I'll have about 4 more turn yellow, orange or red in the next 2 weeks.

raking leaves sucks though

I paid a neighbor boy to get my leaves. He brought his self-propelled mower that mulches and has a bag and got them up.

About the weather in the south:

When my son was 12, one of my uncles from Scotland sent him a snow sled for Christmas. That Christmas Day it was 74 degrees and sunny. He wore shorts and played basketball. The snow sled became a platform for some of my wife's potted plants and flowers.

I have been to HH twice (1978 and 1982), both times the noseeum's were horrible - even a liberal appliction of deep woods off did little to stop their relentless attacks
