Spending my time running up and down the street and to the top of this building.....(not politically connected with anything or near anything political)......also checking in here every few minutes. Cannot get news from any site right now.....phones down....I do have ABC radio. Would greatly appreciate you guys continuing to post news updates as they are available. I can see smoke from the Pentagon, nothing from the State department. Will keep you updated if I should see anything other than racing police cars and speeding F-16's.

puter.....these people will pay, even if it means that I get my 30 year old ass back into shape for another Marine Corps enlistment. BTW, your thread just became a quite a real news source for me.

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines confirmed today that it lost two aircraft in tragic incidents this morning. American said the flights were Flight 11, a Boeing 767 en route from Boston to Los Angeles with 81 passengers, nine flight attendants and two pilots; and Flight 77, a Boeing 757 operating from Washington Dulles to Los Angeles with 58 passengers, four flight attendants and two pilots.

The outcry for GWB to respond is going to be overwhelming, unbelievable, any adjective you want to use.

I don't think the people who did this realize that they have just called down the wrath of God down upon them.

People do not understand the American psyche. They think we are weak and unwilling to suffer casualties etc. That we are UNABLE to respond. That simply is not the case.

I have not been able to connect to any of the news .coms - currently have BBC world net on - it is interesting to hear the 'foreign' slant - the first expressions were being totally appalled and outraged - then the 'analysis' set in - most initial reactions were that the US was ripe for this type of action due to lax security in respect to the rest of the world - then came the 'discussions' on possible US retaliations/reactions and the expressed fears that the US might strike 'irrationally' - the latest ruminations concern the apparent lack of adequate intelligence to forestall this type of attack...

The only way these people survive is they have STATE support. Without that state support the cannot exist. The time has come to declare war on EVERY country that harbors and supports terrorists. Without the help of the nation state terrorists could not operate at all. They are at war with us. Its time to end this bullshit.

This is more of a policework matter right now than the military operation it will soon become. I would like to see a concentrated intelligence operation determine the people behind it (who will most likely be the countries you named) and strike with all necessary force. Just wish we hadn't recently given about $40 million in aid to the Taliban for their part on the war on drugs.

Strangely ironic that on the eve of 9/11, the president announces a new military involvement in the Middle East.

Watching the news footage from 9/11, and knowing what happened in the following decade, reminds me of the Law of Unintended Consequences. W's invasion and occupation of Iraq did not nearly turn out the way he intended. Obama's war on ISIS won't either. The Middle East has been the region of Western military frustration since the Crusades.
