Re: College Football
the news cycle is so short - this will die down pretty quickly I think. Goodell has already admitted he got it wrong, he took punitive action that was what the domestic abuse people wanted in the first place, and I bet there is a quiet group out there that thinks this whole thing is just overblown.
Ray Rice was going to pay a price that affected his football one way or another without Goodell.
I think Goodell just bunkers down for a couple of weeks and then goes back to business as usual.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Out, out, thou strumpet, Fortune! All you gods,
In general synod 'take away her power;
Break all the spokes and fellies from her wheel,
And bowl the round nave down the hill of heaven,
As low as to the fiends!

I want someone's ass blistered in the middle of Thanksgiving Square.

Mine broke my nose once after chasing me around the house with a yardstick. ER Doctor said I deserved it. Different times I guess.

I would have to assume the kid was bleeding from the legs or something from the beating administered to him.
If not, Adrian Peterson is about to become a rallying cry for Republicans and a meme on facebook. You don't get arrested for disciplining your child in this country, you get applauded

Re: College Football
well Kentucky's season pretty much is today
We beat Florida and Stoops is a god. UK is better than last year and Florida is coming off a bad season.
If Florida beats us badly (which I'm afraid will happen) then its back to square one with Stoops and we go back into the mode of coming up with reasons why we should be excited about each game as opposed to the season.
Its not a must win for Stoops but it would go a long in way in showing he is here for more than 5 years without an annual beatdown by Louisville.

I don't think its going to happen. I just hate to see the Stoops love train derail today.

Re: College Football
Why is Kentucky football so crappy?? This article says it's all Bear's fault. check it out.
Immediately after Kentucky’s win over Texas Christian in the ’51 Cotton Bowl, Bryant wrote a new policy on football recruiting, which appeared as a six-paragraph essay in the UK media guide. It was written in the third person, but Bryant reportedly was the author of the message, which explained the school’s new stance on the recruitment of out-of-state players.
In the piece, entitled, “U. of K. Recruiting Policy,” Bryant described the plan as “as step towards elimination of ‘all the evils attendant on recruiting.’ It is believed that the Bryant plan was the first such major corrective step, short of outright de-emphasis (sic) or abandonment, to be adopted by any major football power in the country.”
Bryant’s plan, simply, was to stock his roster almost exclusively with high school players from the state of Kentucky.
Bryant wrote that “…Kentucky will not conduct or condone recruiting outside the state borders and immediate emphasis will be placed on encouraging the best Kentuckians to attend their state university.” Out-of-state students, he wrote, will be accepted, but no more than five in any one year. And, he said, in all instances, “out-of-state students must seek us out and apply for scholarships.”
It was an incredible change of direction for a coach who had built perhaps the nation’s best program on a foundation of players recruited outside the Commonwealth. Babe Parilli, the All-America quarterback who started in all three of the major bowl games, was from Pennsylvania. All-America wide receiver Steve Meilinger was an Ohio native, as was Bob Gain, the Outland Trophy-winning defensive lineman. And there were so many more.
While there were native Kentuckians on the squad, Bryant knew it would be a challenge to sustain excellence with players cultivated solely from a state with few quality high school programs. His essay addressed just that: “Despite the fact that only 108 Kentucky high schools fielded grid squads last year, Bryant declared ‘We have confidence in the ability of Kentucky boys to stand toe-to-toe with those of neighboring states and hold their own in football.’ “

It wont happen e but I like what Stoops is doing. I'm glad they are close enough for the Enquirer to follow them. I give him 2 more years until they finally become a factor again.

I don't think any coach that loses to UK at home should expect to have a job the next day.
