The murdering Ray canonized, the assaulting Ray will probably never play another down. Will she marry him now that he will likely wind up broke?

Ah well, I remember about 14 years ago when Terry Glenn went through the same shit with the New England Patriots. He had a "you gotta be a good boy" clause in his contract, and then he got involved in a Domestic Disturbance altercation similar to what we all just saw with the baby momma of his son. Well, her child support payment (from the Patriots) was a percentage of Terry Glenn's income. So (as it turned out) she had a financial disincentive to press charges against Terry. And (as it turns out) she did not press them. That whole episode told us more about her than it did about him, (that $$$$$ is what motivates too many of the women that get involved with these guys.)

I'd do the same thing - just divorce his ass and get alimony straight from the NFL.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

So you are saying that a guy knocks out the mother of his child and we somehow know more about her than about him simply b/c she got away from him and cashed in? Seriously, an NFL athlete knocks out a woman and you just shrug your shoulders about that minor detail (boys will be boys, eh?), but when she gets some money out of it, you start spewing red pills. Somebody must've really kicked you in the cunt one good time, IB. You are one seriously fucked up dude...

Re: College Football
I didn't say she got away from him. I am saying that she dropped the charges and said that nothing happened the moment Glenn's agent informed her that (by contract) her child support payment would be reduced as a result of Terry Glenn's reduced compensation from the Patriots. That whole episode DID tell us way more about her than it did about him. Terry Glenn is a scumbag. He hits women. But instead of doing what she should, she went the other direction because doing what she should would cost her money. She showed the whole world that she lacked integrity. For someone like yourself Hedge, you must know exactly how that feels as you also lack integrity.hedge wrote:"he got involved in a Domestic Disturbance altercation similar to what we all just saw with the baby momma of his son. I didn't say that either. I think Ray needs a Patriarical blanket party.hedge wrote:Seriously, an NFL athlete knocks out a woman and you just shrug your shoulders about that minor detail (boys will be boys, eh?),

Re: College Football
Really what should have happened, is he should have just turned and walked away the minute she started hitting him.Jungle Rat wrote:Rice and his wife were both charged with the same domestic violence crime. IB is happy because he thinks she got what she deserved.
As a man you do NOT have to sit there and let a woman start hitting you and/or slapping you just because you can severely overpower her. His crime was getting into an elevator with her (a confined area) where he couldn't get away from her BPD induced physical rage, and then (after she came after him) hitting her like a man. He should have grabbed her by the wrists the moment she started in, restrained her (on camera) and the minute the door opens, run out the door, abandon her right there. He does that, then there is no case and no violence (on his part.)
Having been involved with a woman who was BPD who would "hit me" whenever she got aggrivated, I learned to just abandon her wherever she was when her rage got the best of her. And then (about an hour or two later) I would get the call from a crying hysterical woman who was soooooo in love with me and soooooooo very sorry about what she did. Uh huh, right. Tell me rat, how many women have YOU been intimately involved with who would hit you when they got pissed at you for anything?

Terry Glenn? That he is an @sshole that hits women.hedge wrote:"She showed the whole world that she lacked integrity."
And what did he show the world?
What did Ray show? The same thing that YOU show the world, that he is a stupid f-cking dumb@ss who can't think or reason. He lashed out at a hysterical BPD woman with needless massive physical violence (he's lucky that she is not dead as a result) and I think he should catch a beating for it, he needs a blanket party. If he thought about what was happening for just a split second, he would know that all he had to do is hold her screaming @ss down until the door opened, and then leave her there. He can't help her, any woman who goes out of her way to hit a man she is intimately involved with is beyond help.

Shameful shit all around. More than anything this has me realizing that I should not have made light of the Solange / Jay Z shit. Violence should never be tolerated by either gender, as all it leads to is more violence. If Jay Z would have "mushed" Solange in the face, she slipped and hit her head, he would be the bad guy when the story came out. Instead, he plays his role as a man better than most and it is made into a joke, at best, or it the story is told under the speculation that she went off on him because he was flirting with some other woman at that particular gala, disrespecting her sister. There is no winning by taking either path in that decision tree.
Women don't usually benefit from many double standards, but this is one of them. Man nor woman should put their hands on each other in a relationship. Not necessary.
I will say, I don't think Ray should be banned for life from the L. He should not play this year, though. It'd send a proper message.

Re: College Football
See, I have a different, less popular take: I think that the NFL shouldn't be in the business of off-duty asshattery, and that if he doesn't miss games or practice time, what he did at that casino elevator in the offseason is between him, his (now) wife, and the legal system.
I've always had a different slant than most on these kinds of issues, though, so -as always- your mileage may vary. When I was on the Podunk Falls city council, we had a dept head of one of the town's services who got into some similar trouble in - of all things - at a minor league baseball game. It made the papers and I was the only one who voted not to fire (and I was outvoted).
That said, it should be academic in that he should serve jail time and miss games, so his contract being cancelled would be the same outcome, but not until then.

The NFL's two objectives are:
1) make as much money as possible, and
2) eliminate anything that interferes with #1
League bigwigs are concerned about how women view them because women are the primary spenders of discretionary income, women are the principal viewers of TV and women determine whether or not their sons can play football. There is already a rising tide of moms preventing their sons from playing football because of injury concerns, directing them to soccer or other sports instead, and the league wants to make sure that doesn't affect future viewership. They want to ensure that moms aren't directing their kids away from football because they don't want their sons to emulate thuggery. Look for the NFL to make huge donations to domestic violence programs in the next few months.

I agree 100% w/ AA.
But as long as the NFL is punishing Ray - it should be this year then he should be able to play next.

It does seem overly harsh. A year's suspension would've sent a strong enough message. But I do think the league has the right to punish its workers for behavior outside work. I don't think that applies to most professions, but the NFL (and all major sports) is different...
