That IS the sandbagging. WVa only had the one offensive TD because..... your defense is very good. I mean come on, you guys only gave up a 1st down on 3rd down 5 times all game! What's more, you know you have a good defense. You might have one of the best defenses in the SEC West (perhaps the whole conference.)

Your defense kept WVa off the field for almost 40 of the 60 minutes. That is awesome. Defense wins championships.

Since when does a defense keep a team off the field? They send it off the field but it's the offense that keeps them off with extended possessions.

Still one can only admire AA's stealth sandbagging. It gets better each year.

Sorry I left out some details.

It is the defense's job to GET OFF THE FIELD by stopping the offense. You get the other team's offensive unit off the field with the quick 3-and-out.

It is the offense's job to stay on the field and score. If they can't score immediately then STAY ON THE FIELD as long as possible, never give the ball back to the other team.

Do that, you are probably going to win.

I saw enough of him during his time in Tally to say definitively that he's not as talented as Jameis or Manziel. He got one start against Clemson when EJ got hurt in the Oklahoma game, and he wasn't awful but he's not a game changer. Though to be fair the biggest problem in that particular game was the defense constantly extending drives with (often bogus) penalties after stopping Clemson for 3 downs.

I suspect he should be a bit bigger and stronger now though, I think he was 170 pounds or less at FSU. He has since been diagnosed with Crohn's and I think he's gained weight on a new diet.

He threw three passes that were world class. Perfect throws. His other 26 completions against us were decent throws, but our DBs were so lost, he could have done an underhanded granny toss and completed it.

29 passes, 365 yards, and there were at least four head-scratching drops by Wva WRs - so, the numbers could have actually been worse.

No sandbag.

Jeremy Pruitt leaves Bama - DBs start to struggle. Jeremy Pruitt leaves FSU - DBs start to struggle. Jeremy Pruitt comes to UGA - Clemson's hurry-up-no-huddle goes flat.

Jeremy Pruitt owns college football.

Correct. Him and Sunseri leaving were huge losses for Bama coaching.

The Nick is a hard one to work for, and also -in both cases- they left for promotions.

Our DC is a guy named Kirby Smart. A decent, but overrated guy riding the coattails of The Nick.

Rumor is that Pruitt left FSU because he couldn't keep it in his pants. He was banging a 20-something year old blonde from the AD administration and his fiancee said she was leaving Tallahassee with or without him. He chose to go with her. It's certainly possible he wanted back in the SEC as well but on the surface he'd have a better chance at sustained excellence at FSU (similar talent and exposure, easier competition).

But he left Bama because (a) you'll never get credit as a DB position coach under Saban, (b) FSU Defensive Coordinator > Bama position coach.

TAMU looked very good. Florida, though it was against a tomato can, looked complete. Auburn, LSU, Alabama all performed well. Missouri is going to cause someone trouble. Ole Miss looked good. Arkie seems to be getting it together. Tennessee and MissStake struggled a bit with some gritty up-and-coming mid majors, but both ended winning by two scores or more. Kentucky is quietly at 2-0. SoCar looks a bit down from where they were last year and Vandy is back to be being Vandy. Otherwise, the SEC is a tough road from 1-12 or maybe even 13.
