:::yawn::: Sierra Club touts AGW, as do Jews for Jesus and G.W.Bush. Whereas kluxers, neo-nazis, Birchers and Ted Cruz decry AGW as a hoax.
At least dubya has the backing of the scientific community.

Record low temperature this morning of 55. 1939 was the last time it was this cold. Global warming can kiss my ass.

Rat, your skin is lying to you too. The world is on the verge of bursting into flames. The issue is settled.

Storch said the IPCC will have tone down its climate models unless warming quickly and rapidly accelerates ”According to most climate models, we should have seen temperatures rise by around 0.25 degrees Celsius (0.45 degrees Fahrenheit) over the past 10 years. That hasn’t happened. In fact, the increase over the last 15 years was just 0.06 degrees Celsius (0.11 degrees Fahrenheit) — a value very close to zero," Storch told der Spiegel. “This is a serious scientific problem that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will have to confront when it presents its next Assessment Report late next year.”

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Forbes article is from 'contributor' James Taylor, an attorney employed by the Heartland Institute, a conservative denialist "think tank" propped up by the usual energy corporation suspects. The quote from von Storch was cherry-picked (a key sentence in that der Siegel paragraph was omitted - "Recent CO2 emissions have actually risen more steeply than we feared."). von Storch is a firm believer in AGW. And the description of him as Lead Author of the IPCC was a nice touch...seeing as how there are 12 full pages of names of scientists described as "Lead Authors"...more than 400. hehProfessor Tiger wrote:bluetick wrote:Pretty sure the IPCC said GW 'slowed' in 1998. Hey, at least you gave a link, prof. Props for that.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Nice head fake. Nobody is disputing that CO2 emissions have risen. The issue is whether those increased emissions have caused increase in global temperatures. Von Storch, who by your own admission is a faithful practitioner of the AGW religion, and one of some 400 of its official IPCC evangelists, STILL says the increased CO2 emissions have only increased the global temperature by 6/100 of a degree for the past TEN YEARS. You can shoot the messenger, but you can't deny the message. The quote from von Storch was cherry-picked (a key sentence in that der Siegel paragraph was omitted - "Recent CO2 emissions have actually risen more steeply than we feared.")
I kinda feel sorry for Von Storch. By telling the inconvenient truth, he has clearly violated the solemn oath of omerta among his MMGW hierarchy. Here is a clip of the MMGW crowd, and especially their pope Al Gore. Al knows how to deal with such heretics:

The science is settled.Sergei Kavtaradze, a spokesman for rebel leader Alexander Borodai, repeated to the AP on Friday that no rebel units had weapons capable of shooting that high, and said any suggestions to the contrary are part of an information war aimed at undermining the insurgents' cause.

This was obvious a week ago, but so what? No one in the West is going to stop Putin. Russia won't be stopped, Israel won't be stopped, China won't be stopped. Help us, sardis. If Putin can't be stopped, then why does he dick around with military advisors and mercenaries who are shy about their activities? A few missile batteries, some artillery shelling across the border...huh?sardis wrote:This was obvious a week ago, but so what? No one in the West is going to stop Putin. What you do is, you claim Ukraine has weapons of mass destruction and then you invade en masse, with long columns of tanks and a sky full of MIGs. Even if you don't find any wmds (::), you can always claim it was a humanitarian mission (eastern Ukraine is pro-Russia anyway, so there is that).

Ukraine has been slowly but steadily gaining ground on the rebels. Over the past 2-3 days they have been advancing from both the north and the south in an attempt to cut off Donetsk from Luhansk and take control of the crash site as well.sardis wrote:This was obvious a week ago, but so what? Double blow for Putin
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/07/29 ... s-to-levy/
The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine army forces had made rapid gains near the site where Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashed July 17 and were apparently trying to split the territory held by the rebels into two parts between the major cities of Donetsk and Luhansk. Officials on both sides of the fighting also told the Journal that the Ukraine army was attempting to cut off supply lines from Russia to the rebels.
Also on Monday, Igor Girkin, a Russian citizen who is the top defense official in the separatist Donetsk People's Republic, said more than 100 wounded separatist fighters had been evacuated to Russia because "I can't rule out the total siege of Donetsk from all sides." Meanwhile, the separatist republic's self-proclaimed Prime Minister Alexander Borodai, left the rebel-held territory for Moscow on Monday, triggering speculation that the rebels were fleeing the city.
Another separatist official, Vladimir Antufeyev, said that Borodai had gone to Russia to discuss "humanitarian aid," and planned to return soon.
