I have said this before, but professional sports, at least as far as their unions go, are a perfect example of Marxism, but really Marxism on steroids. Everything about the power of "labor" that Marx theorized actually does work when you have a very small population of highly skilled laborers (indeed, the manifestly most skilled laborers imaginable). Marxism has historically been wrong, however, in its idea that unskilled (or marginally skilled) labor has any real power over capital. Union leaders would disagree (indeed, their jobs depend on disagreeing), but for the most part, you can always find "somebody else" who is willing to do pretty much any job. Not so in professional sports. I mean, yeah, you can find plenty of people willing to do it, but nobody wants to watch a bunch clowns running around making fools of themselves, or rather, they don't want to pay to watch it. I guess an exception would be professional wrestling, but that's something different altogether...

But it's still all about the money. People wonder why nobody "cared" when Sterling was discriminating against poor folk with his rental properties. Duh. They're fucking poor. As we all know, nobody cries when fatty dies. Same with poor folk. I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying I like it, but there it is. But when you start fucking with a small group of highly organized people whose labor translates into literally billions of dollars in revenue and profits, it's a different story. Ironically (I guess), Marxism and capitalism in perfect unity, affecting social change. Golf clap to Karl and Adam...

This rocket fan says he takes two steps. The problem is apparently that blind people cant see him dribble. The ball hits the ground right when he's at the elbow.

People post that video because idiotically they think he took 5 steps, but really the only issue is when did he gain control of the ball and was the 3rd to last step during the dribble or after the dribble, a call that pretty much always goes to the player in the NBA.

Now, now. At first glance it is not readily apparent that he dribbles the ball once (he dribbles it right in front of his body and his body is blocking the view from that angle). No need for such antagonistic language...

I'm not sure how to allow embedding of vine videos.

Well, you could be forgiven because you had only seen it on a shitty video taken by some blind asshole with a smartphone taken at an off angle shot of his TV. That guy however was apparently not able to tell he dribbled with the benefit of a big screen and the ability to play it back (presumably he had that, unless he sits there recording the entire game with his phone in case something happens). Then he smugly posts this critical moment in the 2nd quarter which didn't even lead to points and shoves it to his vine feed with some smarmy comments directed at Rockets fans. In short, the guy who posted it is fucking asshole who deserves any ridicule that comes his way.

i like watching vine compilations on you tube where someone has watched thousands of horribly unfunny videos and selected only a few that are worth watching
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Well, if you click on my original link, there's an embedded gif (or whatever it is). Some goddamn body knows how to do it! And I've seen other ones in here. Why am I being discriminated against?? I'm calling Adam Silver...

Also, when I gave a golf clap to Karl and Adam earlier, I was referring to Adam Smith. But I guess Adam Silver deserves one, too...

I wonder if any other owners of sports teams have ever said racially insensitive things

I wonder if they worry about losing their teams because somebody bugs their residence

starting a dangerous precedent if you can follow somebody around secretly record 100 hrs of conversation then ruin them based on 60 seconds of conversation.

lawyers will have a field day

"Sterling, 80, had been scheduled to receive the honor on May 15 as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Los Angeles branch of the nation's oldest civil rights organization. He had been chosen to receive the award because of his long history of donating to minority charities and giving game tickets to inner city children. The NAACP has honored Sterling several times in the past."

from CBS

so inner city children and minority charities probably dont care if this guy doesnt want his girlfriend sitting next to an african american at the game. wonder how much he has donated

Hypothetical question: If it meant the end of all of this type of giving to minorities, would you still want to see the guy outed? I guess the question I'm seeking answered here is, do economics trump morality or vice versa, and at what levels?

I don't think Sterling being outed for his words are the problem or the meat of this "controversy." The words started the controversy. This isn't Jimmy the Greek Redux. Mark Cuban has more latitude to fuck up verbally than Donald Sterling, because the overall record lines up against Sterling being someone who fairly deals with minorities, in real ways.

So, I'm glad Sterling has been outed for his overall character...that has been evident for years (regardless of his checks written to the NAACP or giving $1000 worth of tickets out to some B&G Club members a few times a year).
I have said this before, but professional sports, at least as far as their unions go, are a perfect example of Marxism, but really Marxism on steroids.
Yep.
Marxism has historically been wrong, however
So has pure Capitalism, to be honest
I mean, yeah, you can find plenty of people willing to do it, but nobody wants to watch a bunch clowns running around making fools of themselves, or rather, they don't want to pay to watch it.
See, WNBA.
