Everyone has dated a girl who you wound up being totally annoyed by and your friends called you an idiot for dumping. Who am I to judge Rooney if Ava was that to him?

Stephen Colbert the character on Comedy Central is not Stephen Colbert the comedian who is incredibly smart, quick and versatile. It's an excellent decision.

Yep. Hate to see Dave call it quits, what a run that guy has had. But Colbert should do well in that slot...

Will Colbert continue his schtick, which a big part is his own personality. That was evident in Chuck Noblet.

I have no idea how well Colbert will do but if he isn't going to be the guy he's been for the last 10 years on Comedy Central (admittedly I don't watch his show) I wonder how he's going to pull in viewers being himself?

Well, everything is an act to some degree when the camera is rolling. I don't think he's going to become something totally different, but I suspect he'll ratchet back on the clearly over the top sarcastic persona that he has been cultivating for awhile now. I mean, now he is the show, it's about his character. A talk show is much more about the guests, ostensibly, anyway, or at least the interplay b/w guest and host. I think he'll do fine being able to play off of other people, rather than having to do a solo schtick all the time, which he does even with his guests on CS, so it's still all about him (or rather, his character). Hell, even when he went and spoke to Congress, he was doing his schtick the whole time. Of course, senators are used to that sort of thing, it's all they ever do themselves, in public, anyway...

one of my favorite Letterman moments. Do you guys think this was staged or really a product Simmons was pitching?

I've never really watched him & don't know much about him so I guess the only opinion I have is that hedge is a cum dumpster.

Hard to say. I think he really was hawking the product, and Dave was interfering. He did seem like he was getting pissed off a little at Dave. But who knows, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that anything I see on TV was actually staged, no matter how "real" or genuinely unrehearsed it seems at first. And I mean anything. Hell, I'm starting to feel that way about the people around me every day...

wiki says Simmons wasn't in on the joke

Simmons was also a frequent guest on Late Night with David Letterman (NBC) and the Late Show with David Letterman (CBS).[23] On November 22, 2000, they had a falling out after an incident that occurred on that night's show. Simmons (while dressed as a turkey) was sprayed in the face by Letterman with a fire extinguisher after Simmons grabbed Letterman as if to hug or kiss him, causing Simmons to have a severe asthma attack.[24] Simmons did not attend the Letterman show for six years, finally returning on November 29, 2006. During that time, Letterman once again set Simmons up for a prank. While Richard Simmons was demonstrating a steamer branded with his name, Letterman insisted on placing a tray under the steamer which Simmons did not believe belonged there. When Simmons turned the steamer on, something in the tray exploded and caught fire, sending Simmons running for his life. Despite the scare, Simmons took the incident in fairly good nature, even joking that he "felt like Michael Jackson" (referring to a mishap where Jackson's hair was set on fire by a pyrotechnics accident).[25]

I like how Paul kicks the band in by playing some jaunty piano after the explosion. True professionalism there...

the previews for Bad Words are dead on. Its worth watching.
You kinda see where its going about 1/2 thru but it doesn't take away from the movie.

The local DA went to a taping several years ago. He met Biff on the street afterwards. Turns out Biff is from Durham and still keeps a home there.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.

That was actually worth the view. Crazy shit.

Also, Joffrey has a drinking problem.
actually, as a non book reader, I'm interested to see if the wine was spiked...or the pie. Also, it doesn't seem like Inigo Montoya would have gone the poison route (although, he does get two Lannisters for the price of one), so I have no idea who set Joffrey up. The list is endless...but it surely isn't Tyrion.
