The True Detective thing was awesome.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Well, that's a little strong, right? Are they really mutually exclusive?Owlman wrote:If you have any religious beliefs don't see Noah. It's a fantasy movie.

Also...
So glad GoT is back in business.
Shame to see an 11 years old girl become a stone cold killer...but she became one well before you officially became one.
Also, Joffrey should be nicer to his dad...and I wonder if Cercei is pregnant, or something. That would be hilarious, but I doubt that would have kept her from boinking her brother again.

Who knocked her up then? Kingslayer's been away for a year, didn't they say?
Also, the Dario Vahoris or whatever guy is the one who changes faces, right? Otherwise, I'm waiting to find out how the Dutch junkie/guitarist from Treme ended up in the cast without an introduction.
In defense of Owlman, alot of people don't like movies that stray from the novel it is based on whether fiction or nonfiction. Why should this be any different?

If you don't believe in Christianity, it was entertaining although somewhat disturbing and short-sighted. If you believe in Christianity, liberal or conservative, you'd get upset with the movie.Bklyn wrote:Well, that's a little strong, right? I don't know, it's no more disturbing than the story of God telling Abraham to sacrifice Isaac as a "test" or God ruining Job's life simply because Satan dared him to. The OT is full of fucked up shit

For those that aren't religious, that is a point, but unrelated to the movie Noah. (anyway, Jack Black stopped the whole Isaac thing)Dr. Strangelove wrote:I don't know, it's no more disturbing than the story of God telling Abraham to sacrifice Isaac as a "test" or God ruining Job's life simply because Satan dared him to. I don't know if any movie is going to emotionally challenge anything regarding my religion. Re: UCLA Bruins
Getting back to Grand Budapest: some fairly good actors had parts in it - Ralph Fiennes, Ed Norton, Bill Murray, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, William Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, F. Murray Abraham, and a few others. But again, if you don't dig Wes Anderson's style (think Moonrise Kingdom), you won't like this.

Re: UCLA Bruins
Interesting. I do.
I only get upset when something stirs my emotions...
Either way, I find it hard to believe I would ever be upset at any movie's depiction of some biblical shit...especially one that is most likely an allegory of some sort.
Hell, if I don't get upset at every long-haired, pale, blond Jesus I see in movies, I surely ain't getting mad at how someone takes creative license on the story of Noah. At least I believe Jesus was a real dude...I don't know about this Noah fella.

Re: UCLA Bruins
I watched Winter Soldier, Non Stop, and Rise of the 300 on the plane
I thought all of them were good popcorn movies. Rise of the 300 is just a remake of 300 but from the point of view of the sea battle that went on while Leonidas fought at the hot gates.
Non-Stop is Neeson doing what Neeson does, just in the confines of a plane and Winter Soldier is ..well..another comic book movie.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.
