Where is he going? Overseas? His stock was highest after his freshman season, probably would've gone late first round then. Doubt he is a first rounder this year, but if he stays and thrives and Carolina makes a FF run next year, his stock will go back up...

IU update

Vonley declares for the draft, Austin Etherington, Jeremy Hollowell and Johnny Matlin all decide to transfer.

Crean is their Billy Gillespie only they can't afford to get rid of him until next year.

of course he might be crazy like a fox - clearing out dead weight so he can bring in some juco's in an attempt to salvage next year. (spoiler alert - he won't)
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

What's wrong with Crean, exactly? Didn't he take a program with no players to a #1 seed 4 years later? I guess then he has a bad year?

This article paints a pretty good picture of why coaches are whining about the OADs

It's hard not to go after the top players if you have a chance to get them but it does seem the better approach now is to make sure you're going to have some decent 3-4 year guys in each class.

Of course, if UK wins it all this year, that theory will be shelved...

He's right. The entire country wanted this current crop.

Vonley - One and done.

Austin - Graduated in 3 years. MEH, good luck.

Jeremy - Sucks and didn't pan out.

Marlin - transferred to Indiana from IPFW two seasons ago, father confirmed his son is also seeking to transfer to a non-Division I program.

IU fans need to calm the fuck down. They won the Big Ten last year. Crean needs to find more OOOOLLLLLAAAADEEEEEPOOOOS that will commit to at least 3 years.

I know all the coaches want the one and dones but honestly, how many teams have won titles in the past 15 years with this approach? Syracuse and Kentucky?

I have told you all the plan before. He will be around until Brad Stevens is fired from Boston. Mark it down.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

hedge wrote:"Paige tried to seal the game with that open three, but it was a horrible idea."

I was pretty pissed when he took that shot, esp. in light of subsequent events, but now I realize that this team overachieved all year. It was a good look by Paige and the shot almost went in, he would've been the hero if it had. Can't really fault Paige for taking that shot, although I almost would've rather had a shot clock violation at that point and run off 35 seconds than a quick miss. Oh well, oftentimes when something like this happens, you can say "Well, we wouldn't have even been there if (fill in the blank) hadn't been playing for us", but in this case, we wouldn't have even been in the NIT if we didn't have Paige. It wasn't a bad shot on his part and he carried the team all year, I can't blame the kid for taking that shot.

Very encouraged about next year, Paige is a legit stud, MacAdoo as a senior will be a George Lynch type of glue guy/team leader, and if Brice Johnson continues on his current trajectory, he could be all-ACC next year. I think Meeks will be much better, too (he's already pretty damn good for a freshman, I can see him being really good next year). We only lose MacDonald, if even one of our incoming freshman is worth a shit, we should be pretty solid next year. Still, I would've loved to play UConne this week, I think we would've had a shot against them, although that very likely would've been the end of the road for us. Still, not a bad season overall...
I expect that next year's team will have some growing pains early with the introduction of the freshmen. Yes, the key players from this year's team will be back, but those freshmen will be filling in key holes at the wing and in the backcourt. By February, they should be rolling.

Next year's team will be a disappointment if they don't make it to the Final Four. Heck, they should be playing on the first Monday night in April next year...

Yawnnnn.

Sorry for tarheel nation. I honestly had them playing the izzos. Is McAdoo really going...because he's not ready for the show. Btw I don't think gordon is ready either, the globetrotters maybe but not ready for durant, lebron et al. But gordon will go, so I hope we can get a title out of him.

Also, for anyone who will listen... the bruins are taking florida down. Ucla is just a headache, with those runouts and all that movement. they're going to put the STFU on gator talk.

I don't think JMM is going to declare. In fact, I thought the word was that he and Paige are staying.
