Congrats to UK, complete opposite of UNC. I tuned in to the radio broadcast, UK was down 4 with about 4 minutes left and they scraped and fought and won the game. OTOH, we're up 8 with with 4 minutes and blow it. I fucking hope UK wins it all this year...

Bad coaching. They inbounded the ball immediately despite having two timeouts. Never should have inbounded the ball.

you know, I can finally watch that Laetnner shot now without getting a pit in my stomach
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Major stones by the refs to actually rule the game over...I can't believe it took so long for the fucking announcers to notice that the gameclock didn't even start until UNC was already at midcourt.

I disagree - you aren't going to run the court after a timeout and get a shot with 1.6 seconds left

Cal has a monumental job now bringing these kids back to earth and have them go from believing they needed redemption to stop them from thinking they are world beaters. I hope he hides them from fans all week.

As soon as they called timeout I knew the inbound pass time would end it. Great call. Great game. Been a fun day.

Then Roy shouldn't I guess of tried to call a timeout while they were going down the court.

Suppose instead of a timeout, he came down and hit a 3? Would they have ruled it was after the time because of how late they started the clock?

The loss will probably sink in later, but I am oddly relaxed right now. Losing Johnson early turned out to be the dagger I was afraid it would be. He would have helped with rebounding. Iowa State was playing on emotion, and they caught everything just right. The free throw shooting was a major issue as always.

Paige tried to seal the game with that open three, but it was a horrible idea. The failure to get back on defense on that possession and the possession where Iowa State got the easy lay up late killed the Heels.

Oh well. If Paige and McAdoo stay, which I think is very likely, this will be a damn good team next year.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.

I doubt it - the game would be called and Roy would run UNC off the court - Iowa St could protest but the refs wouldn't have looked at it I bet. I'm not even sure Iowa St would have noticed the clock not starting until half court anyways

Paige might be the best shooter in college basketball next year

See, that would be my impression. Of course, it would be a travesty in that case.
