true
so switzer says he would never recruit a white QB. Only black QB's can run his offense
is that a statement one would consider racist? if so isnt it racist to both whites and blacks and should he appologize?

It's racist, but I'm not sure if you need to apologize to a group who you feel is superior based on their race...

Re: Florida State Seminoles
morals are a tough nut to crack. Morals are our values. Conservatives and Liberals believe in moral absolutes. But what is "absolutely moral" for liberals and conservatives are polar opposite.eCat wrote:and I have to say , reluctantly, that I do agree with IB on the civil rights act.
Its not that I support the idea of refusing service to someone because they are black, gay or handicapped, but I think it stands in the way of our basic rights to pursue happiness and our basic rights of living in a free country.
I can explain it like this
I am pro-life. I wasn't always that way but as I got older I started coming to terms about what life meant to me and what abortion meant to me.
however, that said, its not my place to tell another person what to do with their body or what their obligations are to their body. Dancing around the idea of when the unborn is a human being with rights (which is the key to dismantling this argument) , abortion is no more of an issue than telling a person they can't use heroin or get drunk.
So the same with me on civil rights- what I personally would or wouldn't do is based on my value system, but my value system doesn't give me the right to place my values on another person to where it impedes their right to do what they want with their property.
libertarians, reactionaries, radicals, communists, & true moderates, they do NOT have moral absolutes. They may have morals, but there is nothing absolute about any of them.
Civil Rights legislation is based on morals. Unfortunately of the 435 members of the House of Representatives, I could probably count on one hand the number of House Reps that actually know the true history here (that could argue BOTH sides the way that I just did.)

Am I the only one that feels the authorities know what happened to the Malaysian plane and are just worried about the foreign policy implications of it coming out?
I mean, they have access to every keystroke of data on your phone and they can't find a freakin' airplane?

I don't know , I'm certainly not up to speed on this sort of thing but unless there is a large debris field, I don't think its uncommon to have trouble finding it - especially given that they didn't have a mayday call and just dropped off radar.
Apparently the oil slick hasn't led them to find anything - not trash, bodies, luggage - the thing might be sitting virtually intact on the bottom for all they know.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

If the plane does a nosedive into the ocean, it breaks apart, right? I think there would be debris.
Or maybe we do have an "Airport 77" thing going on.

heh-- admittedly that would be a highly unlikely scenario but with multiple countries involved in the search I doubt there is a cover up.sardis wrote:If the plane does a nosedive into the ocean, it breaks apart, right? I think there would be debris.

There is probably a cover up involving this flight and the DHARMA Initiative/Hanso Foundation.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
The Lockerbie Scotland airliner was intended to blow up over the ocean so at 35,000 feet there would be such a wide debris field and the debris would be so small that it would virtually be impossible to locate, however the flight was delayed and the bomb went off early over land.
But from what I've read, any plane that size at 35K feet in the air that is pressurized and has a catastrophic failure is going to have a very wide debris field, but the thing is - by now they should have found some stuff floating somewhere.

From Gary Johnson
One of Congress's staunchest defenders of NSA mass surveillance of US citizens, Sen. Dianne Feinstein is now outraged that the CIA may have hacked computers used by congressional staff. If only she was as concerned about OUR 4th Amendment protections...

- the passengers with the stolen passports were Muslims
- those Muslims each stuck 4 kilos of C-4 up their assholes
- the Muslims yelled Allah Akbar and blew the plane to smitherines
- anyone who found the debris may not want more scrutiny upon the religion of piss
- and as a result, there might be a cover-up if this leads in the direction of Islamic Fundamentalism
