Re: Uncle Bud
So I bought a bottle of crystal skull vodka a few years ago just for kicks, I just like having the skull on the shelf in the bar (also bought another bottle and poured it into a different bottle and gave the skull to my brother's kids, they use it for milk). So now we have this:
"Forensic artists can’t come across a skull, or skull shaped decanter, without wondering what that person’s fleshy face looked like when they were among the living, and there’s no better testament to your artistic skills than creating a skull sculpture from scratch that actually looks like a human being when clay skin is added.
Some hitherto unnamed forensic scientists couldn’t help themselves when they saw a bottle of Crystal Skull Vodka sitting on the shelf at their local liquor store, they just had to see what that laughing face would look like properly skinned.
So they bought a bottle and went to work properly replacing layers of muscle and flesh until they revealed the face of a drunken fool, very appropriate for the spokesskull of a popular alcoholic beverage!"

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

That Kentucky union issue with VW is kinda interesting...

Re: Uncle Bud
Its Tennessee.
Its all the GOP. VW wanted a union and I'm sure the workers were at least interested in exploring it.

The union had it teed up for them and they couldn't deliver. The majority of workers didn't want it.

That's the ass end of the state.

Nephew did a great job on the interview on AJ TV. Some tough questions... most about the reasons for the failed union vote at the VW plant in TN and why the vote was so close. Not bad for a local boy.....not bad at all.

Re: Uncle Bud
New Georgia plate causing an uproar......
Georgia officials have approved a license plate featuring the Confederate flag, infuriating civil rights advocates, the Associated Press reports.
The new plate has stirred up the fiery debate between those who believe the flag honors Southern heritage and those who see it as symbol of racial oppression and slavery.
"To display this is reprehensible," Southern Christian Leadership Conference spokesman Maynard Eaton told the AP. "We don't have license plates saying 'Black Power.'"
A spokesman for the Georgia Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, that proposed the new plates, says the group meant it no offense.
"We believe that everyone has the right to preserve their heritage," the group's spokesman Ray McBerry told the AP. "Southerners have as much right to be proud of their heritage as anybody else."

Re: Uncle Bud
I go out last week to meet the new scouts that are coming into my troop in March. The council leader invited me to go with him and answer questions. He is black. The Scoutmaster for that troop has an adopted son who happens to be black. Now this is a troop of about 7 boys so its a small knit group.
So I walk in to meet the parents and one woman is wearing a shirt with a big ass confederate flag on it and the shirt says "if you don't know what it stands for, you need a history lesson"
I didn't ask but the council leader didn't even act like he noticed it, but I'm sure this isn't the first time she has worn this shirt around the scoutmaster.
So I came to conclusion that either that symbol is virtually meaningless to them living in Ohio or they noticed it and felt the discussion wasn't worth the fallout it would certainly bring.
But I was afraid to bring it up to him in the car ride back because if he didn't notice it, then he'd have an issue with the family that would trickle down to their son coming into my patrol.
If he did notice it, I have to commend him for looking past it and treating her as well as anyone else in the group.

First of all, why is he comparing the black power movement to the confederacy in terms of it being reprehensible? What's reprehensible about the black power movement? But maybe that's not what he meant...
Secondly, why shouldn't they be able to have a black power license plate if they want it?
Thirdly, I do think they should ban the confederate license plate, simply b/c I like to think about redneck crackers being enraged when they don't get their way on this point...

Re: Uncle Bud
Actually, I can understand why the state doesn't have black power license plates, b/c if you start with that, every damn group is going to want an "official" plate with their fucked up organization/identity on it (NAMBLA, etc). But in that case, the confederates shouldn't get special treatment, either. I thought they had solved all this bullshit by letting you put any kind of unofficial plate on the front of your car...
