which is pretty much Rand's point. He's not the only one reaching out to them but he is trying to do it without selling out the the core GOP. Of course I don't agree with him about it - His stance on immigration is my biggest gripe about Rand.

it's not that they are rich and have parties, its that they are in a business where the risk is subsidized by the federal government. Because they are too big to fail they make decisions based on a huge windfall for themselves, not worrying about the possible downside of their decisions because they know they will be bailed out by the federal government. That's not capitalism, that's institutionalism.

I respect the one percenters who have private businesses that have to take personal risk on the decisions they make. They deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labors.

The answer by the way is because they are in commerce and the regulation of commerce was specifically given to the federal govt in the Constitution primarily because of the failure of commerce under the Articles of Confederation that was much more strongly state's rights.

oh its more than that. not only do I support the idea that the government isn't going to tell me who I have to allow in, but they shouldn't tell me what I have to do with the property such as zoning.

I've backed Ron Paul in 2008 and voted Gary Johnson in 2012. Clearly I don't tie my beliefs to which candidate I think has the best chance to win.

But I doubt the latino voters are all that concerned with Rand Paul's stance on civil rights versus personal property, and are solely concerned about his views on pathway to citizenship.

Like most, Latino's are concerned with a whole lot of issues beyond just one. It's thinking of Latino's as simple or only concerned with one issue that makes it hard for the GOP to make inroads. Bush II received latino votes because he worked very hard to get them. I agree with some of the far-right conservatives in that regard. Simply passing immigration will not get Latinos to vote Republican. The same is true for Asians, who voted for the President in a greater percentage than Latinos.

Of course, it won't matter with Paul. He also voted against the bipartisan Senate immigration bill. But let's look at your assertion.

Latino's aren't going to vote Republican regardless unless the democrats are against immigration - and that ain't happening.
