At one time or another during the 70's Time also endorsed stack shoes, disco, the Betamax, Air Supply, rollerblades and the Chevy Chevette.
20 years from now, the manmade global warming religion will be as out-of-style as all those. Actually, it will go the way of other false catastrophes - Malthusian overpopulation leading to worldwide starvation, the Amazon rain forest being destroyed, etc.

Would you in any way concede that the vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is occurring (without considering the human question)?
Maybe they do, I don't know. How can you know? Alot of them are subsidy seeking bandwagoners that follow the prevalent viewpoint that will be subsidized whether it be by government or oil companies. I don't trust either one. There is money to be made by having the public alarmed, whether it be global warming, school shootings, too big too fail, war on terror. If there is not urgency in your profession you don't get funded. Does the earth warm and cool at various stages? yes. Is there anything humans can do to change the course of those trends? no. Do humans have the ability to predict what temperatures we will be 10-20 years from now? History says we are pretty bad at it.

In 1974, Time Magazine blamed the cold polar vortex on global cooling.

‘Scientists have found other indications of global cooling. For one thing there has been a noticeable expansion of the great belt of dry, high-altitude polar winds —the so-called circumpolar vortex—that sweep from west to east around the top and bottom of the world.’

Another Ice Age? – TIME

Forty years later, Time Magazine blames the cold polar vortex on global warming

‘But not only does the cold spell not disprove climate change, it may well be that global warming could be making the occasional bout of extreme cold weather in the U.S. even more likely. Right now much of the U.S. is in the grip of a polar vortex, which is pretty much what it sounds like: a whirlwind of extremely cold, extremely dense air that forms near the poles.’

Heh. Rush Limbaugh: ""Polar vortex was invented this week by the left-wing media to advance their global warming agenda."

Al Roker pulls out his 1959 meteorological textbook describing polar vortex on Today, tells Limbaugh to "stuff it."
