Come man, don't diss the Ginga Ninja!!
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Fuckin' Bengals.
Washington - PLEASE hire Jay Gruden.
Marvin - You raised this franchise from the ashes and for that you will be eternally thought highly of by Bengals fans. Mook called you Black Moses when you were hired - and you led us through our 40 years in the desert. But, like Jew Moses, you are destined to see the Promised Land but never enter it. PLEASE do the right thing and resign as head coach - perhaps to become GM? Or a consultant to Mikey? - and let Mike Zimmer become our Joshua.

Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

Definitely thought Bengal receivers gave up even when down by only 10 with 7 minutes to go.

I said at the beginning of the year that I didn't trust Dalton. It's not the coach. How do you overcome your QB?Bluecat wrote:Fuckin' Bengals.

Re: College Football
3 years in a row in the playoffs - I guess you can put that on Lewis or Dalton but damn - Dalton caves under pressure too much.

If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Did I mention that I hope and pray that the Deadskins hire Jim Caldwell? That would bring me sooooooooo much joy.

Re: College Football
Anybody who wants Jay Gruden can have him. Please take him.
PLEASE!!!!!
Yes, as Bluecat said Marvin is still considered The Black Moses around here. Probably always will be. But if todays Enquirer story about Mike Brown is correct he will realize that it's time to move Marvin up to the GM position & give Zimmer the Head Coaching job. There is no doubt that Marvin knows talent. There is a doubt however that Marvin knows how to coach. It's time. Again, I love Marvin. Besides PB himself no one has done more for this team. It's just time for a change though. Just like Dusty, you've peaked.

Re: College Football
Marvin Lewis is still coaching the Bengals? I thought he stepped down a few years ago and was doing analyst work on one of the networks.

Re: College Football
Marvin just isn't a big game coach -- not just the playoffs, he has a woeful record in prime time games. Any time the pressure is ratcheted up, he fails to get the team prepared.
Spacer -- Dalton doesn't skate free on this one. Not by any means. He is also terrible under pressure. But, why do Gruden/Marvin abandon a running game that was working? Dalton threw 17 passes in the 1st half, completed 12 with a TD for 164 yards and no picks. He threw 34 passes in the 2nd half and the results were disastrous. The panic in play calling was on the coaching staff. The inability to adjust blocking schemes to compensate for Ingram's dominance of Andre Smith was on the coaching staff. The complete absence of the Law Firm - did he get more than 1 second half carry? - after gaining almost 50 yards in the 1st half is on the coaching staff. The lack of urgency that the Bengals played with in the 1st and 3rd quarters is on the coaching staff. McCoy was quoted post game as saying sometimes you don't win playoff games, you wait for the other team to lose them. A rookie head coach was bold enough to play chicken with Marvin and Dalton because he was confident they would blink. And they did.
Dalton is nowhere near an elite quarterback. Probably never will be. But, Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer won Super Bowls. So did three chumps for the Redskins under Joe Gibbs. Shit, I can remember years where Ken Anderson and Boomer Esiason both looked worse than Dalton has in any of his three years and they both put together Super Bowl runs. With a dominant defense and the right scheme (RUN THE BALL!) the Bengals can get there with Dalton. Difficult and unlikely, but it can be done. Unless they catch Russell Wilson/Colin Kaepernick lightning in a bottle with a 2nd/3rd round pick, however, we are stuck with him. A free agent QB is not going to come in and do a better job. Even a rookie QB will set us back 2-3 years. So, while I'm not Dalton's biggest fan, I'm afraid he's the best option so the Bengals have to build around his weaknesses to succeed. Which, again, is on the coaching staff.
Speaking of which -- an article came out this week where Mike Brown stated he wanted Kaepernick three years ago but Jay Gruden insisted Dalton was the man for his offense. Brown said are you sure? Kaepernick's mobility would be a great asset. Gruden said he guaranteed it, Dalton was a better fit for Gruden's offense. So, the Bengals took Dalton with 35th pick of the 2011 draft. Kaepernick went to the 9ers one pick later.

Re: College Football
The Dalton pick was the right pick at the time. He's under contract for one more year. Id extend AJ tomorrow. Dalton needs to win a playoff game before I even think of an extension.

Re: College Football
Dalton takes on a Jay Cutler persona in the post game interviews. That doesn't help my attitude with him at all.

"There is no doubt that Marvin knows talent."
You are correct. I just got an email from him that said we should get rid of you...
