I don't see how you could support Columbia House in the first place. Giving out (basically) free records to anyone who applied while everybody else had to pay full price in de stoe to subsidize the takers. Talk about redistribution...

Masturbation has been around forever and that hasn't hindered marriage in the past. Yeah, masturbation feels good, but it can not hold a candle to the real deal. The guys you counsel's problem are not porn, but laziness and underachieving. I bet they are overweight and are momma's boys that don't have to get a job. I bet they have never had a woman or they wouldn't be saying they don't need them.

I will agree that the main reason we are suffering is the downfall of the family unit in our society. Statistics show that if you have a mom and dad in your home you have a huge advantage economically over children in a one parent home, no matter where you live. You may mock India, but they will be a powerhouse down the road because they have a young demographic that is educated and entrepeneurial. They also have a democracy. For the life of me I can not figure out why America doesn't have better relation with them. Anyway, the Western countries are in trouble because they are not replenishing themselves and becoming more top heavy as the years go on. You can't force marriage, but it is damaging to a country when it becomes scarce.

India's dirty little secret is their income inequality and the chains of the remaining caste system. It hinders them, tremendously. I liked them, over the long haul, better than China because of Democracy...but I was wrong because their problems have impacted growth worse than China's modified Commie system has.

I still kick myself for not plowing more money into my China Fund.

I was in India for 3 months. I saw some shit there that tells me they got a ways to go, but I will say that Indian people here in the states are generally the smartest hardest working people I know.

Agreed. The Indians and Chinamen I met while in business school were impressive. It's not that surprising given what it must take to rise to the top of over a billion people to get a chance to get out and go to school and work in the US.

The American economy is suffering and will just trudge along from here on out. You can't keep supporting an ever larger retirement population with an ever smaller working class. China is now doing great because of its population, but are going to start to feel the same Western nation demographic problem in the next decade because of their one child policy. India will be kicking everyone's ass from 2020 forward. They have the youngest and smartest population and America's only hope is to convince many of them to set up their shops over here, as awful smelling as they are.
