It might be one thing for the head of the CIA to roll around in the hay with a mistress and have a blind eye turned on it, esp if at the end he can say fuck off, I'm tired of you and some nobody basically has to take it. But his personal biographer (and one who has classified documents on her laptop), who is already proven to be a nutcase with him and other women (what happens if he breaks it off, or she gets pissed at him?) is a different story. This isnt the type pf personal mistake the head of the CIA should be making, ever.

The newest girl exchanging 10000-20000 emails with the CINC of operations in afghanistan who also happens to be good friends with the petraeus family and gets threatening emails from mistress #1. did whore 1 believe whore 2 was trying to bang her man or was she sending threatening emails becuase she knew whore 2 was threatening the Cinc in afghanistan. yeah theres a movie out there for this one

But was national security really an issue. FBI once they determined there was no breach should have left this one alone. If theere was a breach they should throw the book at Petraeus which there not.

Even better is the shirtless FBI Agent who didn't think the story was advancing quick enough and gave the information to Cantor in October, presumably to get it out into the public before the election. It's like a poorly written movie. Ironically, in all of this, Petraeus comes off looking the most sane. He may come out of this battered, but ultimately sympathetic. All I've heard today was how brilliant of mind he has.

The side story to this is the impact of these two wars on fidelity in the armed forces. Patreus did 4 stints overseas and one stretch was 18 months. If that doesn't make you susceptible to some toned forearm, moist red lips strange out in the field I don't know what will. I understand his transgression was not minimal, but I also understand how his defenses can get lowered.

yeah, I don't see a nat'l security risk but Petraeus obviously doesn't possess the judgement to be the head of the CIA. and by that I mean the judgement he demonstrated in marrying that Salvation Army bell-ringer cow.

You can't say that (well, you can but I don't agree). She was cute 38 years ago (there is actually a picture of them before their marriage, her with long blond hair), plus being the daughter of the commandant of the place Petraeus, it was a smart political move. The fact that now, she isn't as hot as someone almost 20 years younger shouldn't disqualify him.
