Thank God we don’t have to listen to idiot Kamala speak for four years. Also wonder if all the snowflake libbies who threatened to move abroad are packing their shit tonight.

Heh, I'll put my knowledge of civics up against yours anytime. There are and have been plenty of solid arguments against the EC for decades. Came close to being abolished in the early 70's but was filibustered by the usual suspects. I can guarantee you if, say, Texas turned consistently blue, ensuring Dem EC victories every election, repubs would be rabidly for abolishing it. Funny how that works..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral ... 80%931970)
well I guess that's the difference between you, republicans and me

Had Trump won the popular vote and lost the electoral college I wouldn't have wanted anything to change, because I understand its a temporary situation that is self correcting. The founding fathers understood that a geographic population density shouldn't be able to dictate how people live in another part of the country.

so please, test your civics knowledge beyond what a google search tells you

btw, Gen-X is the only age demographic that voted in favor of Trump, all the rest were for Harris

Its been awhile. Things are a little slow around here since there are only about 20 of us left and of that 20, maybe 8 of us post regularly - meaning once a day

Hey eCat,

Nice to see you too. This place had already dwindled when I left. It was the same 8 or 10 people saying the same things over again. It looks like that is still the case.

"The founding fathers understood that a geographic population density shouldn't be able to dictate how people live in another part of the country."

Yeah, and vice-versa. The Founding Fathers made a lot of compromises with the slave states to ensure we'd have a republic. The Electoral College was one of them. I know you don't want to hear that but it's true. Nobody in any other local, state or federal election gets elected like the president, it's whoever gets the most votes wins, period. That's the way it should be for the president too. Everybody's individual vote should count equally, which is not the case with the Electoral College method of declaring a winner. In your heart you know and believe this but since the EC has favored the candidates you like, you're willing to overlook it and rely on "civics." Can't say that I blame you but I know that even you know it's not right..

It wasn't only about slavery, but even if it was it still makes sense. Just because the divide was slavery then doesn't mean that the compromise is no longer necessary. If its not slave vs free states it might be pro-life vs pro-choice states or almost anything where pure popularity does not adequately suit itself to the geography of the nation.

no I don't believe that, not for a second because fundamentally I do not want Ohio to be forced to adhere to what California believes is the best interest of this nation which would inherently be the best interest of California. Gavin Newsome may be great at dealing with homeless people that shit on sidewalks and keeping thriving business going in downtown San Francisco, but as president, based on popularity voting, he'd continue to focus on those issues and ignore issues that are important to other less populated states. None of us who live in near the great lakes would want to participate in forced water rationing and pay for water recycling plants just because California is in a 15 year drought. At the same time, Ohio has zero ability to influence California - it would take 20 states with a common agenda that is opposite of California to even make any headway, and if that were the case, it would probably not be a federal requirement, it would be pushed down to state level determination.

Its really not that difficult to understand. Also every local, state or federal election besides the president is state bound. I can't vote for who I want to be Senator in Arizona, nor can Arizona hold any influence over Ohio.

The house represents the influence of the population while the Senate represents the influence of individual states. The president represents the sway vote, if he only has to answer to popular vote he'll side with the house every time.

Jesus man, its a simple concept that is foundational to the strength of this country you want to throw out because you have TDS

Correct.

It's also important to note, that the people do not elect the President. The STATES do. He is POTUS, President of the States. He is not the President of the people of America. The states decide for themselves how they want their electors voting for President. All 48 do it the same way, Nebraska and Maine allocate things a bit differently. But the point is, President works for the states, not the people. That is the only way we get to HAVE a country.

The EC is the way we elect presidents, and has been for 200 years. Those are the rules of the game.

Complaining about it is like a football team that loses because they have a bad field kicker. So their response is to demand the width of the field goal uprights be doubled. Or a baseball team that has trouble hitting home runs, so they demand the wall be moved towards the batter box. Get better at winning the game by the rules of the game, not changing the rules of the game to accommodate your deficiencies.

Yes.

This is exactly why I feel no pride or compassion for Nick Saban. On his retirement, all he did was bitch to anyone and everyone about how college football is now broken. He retired because he knew, he couldn't win anymore. The rules are the transfer portal and he got OUT because of it to keep his legacy intact. But someone IS going to win.

So in doing an autopsy on what is the 2024 election, one thing is painfully clear; there is a gender divide. And this divide goes all the way down the age of 18. I have no idea if U-of-A resident life is a perfect representative of the average university student life in the United States, but I do know how things were on campus there the month before the election.

It appears (at U-of-A) that pretty much all the young men (or perhaps just a vast majority of them) were walking around campus wearing MAGA hats. And the young ladies were yelling at them, calling them all little Hitlers or racist or incels or whatever. And then the young men would yell back, we don't CARE what you gold-digging cunts have to say or what you think: none of you are going to fuck us anyway so what is the point of us trying to impress, YOU? Or simping for YOU? Shut your pie holes.

Okay that kind of a divide, I call it the Joe Rogan podcast divide. We don't mend that. Well we certainly aren't mending that now, that's for damn sure. Technology and portals regulate our mating and sexual congress and conquest. Young people don't date anymore, they just hook up via text message. And its only the top 10% of males who are getting their dicks wet. via 90% of the women Its a feast for them, they are living a polygamy lifestyle without any financial burdens! The rest, incels. All are swept left by women who happily (or perhaps ignorantly) share men. And apparently these incels represent some larger percentage of even the male university population that was (for almost a 100 years anyway) a solid democrat voting block. Well, they aren't anymore. Their sexual frustration has bled over into their political beliefs. To them, the only thing worse than not getting laid is being a SIMP to the ladies that will not fuck them.

Louisville did that. They were pissed off that KSR Matt Jones had a radio show in Louisville that was the #1 sports show and it was focused on Kentucky basketball

So they hired this guy whose single purpose in life was to promote UL sports, except it was forced and wasn't sincere - all he could do was fixate on how much he hated Kentucky and Matt Jones

so UL ended up with two radio personalities that talked about Kentucky all day. I don't think he lasted more than maybe 3 years before they moved him to another format

Kamala went on the Call Me Daddy podcast , Charlamagne and god knows what else - she *could* have went on Joe Rogan but she didn't have the capacity to last 3 hours in an unscripted format. They don't get it, its not the platform, its the discussion. Rogan was prepared to give her a chance to talk to his listeners without any gotcha interview questions and she wouldn't do it. Creating a democratic Joe Rogan isn't the answer, being a normal human being and appearing on Joe Rogan is.

The left already has their own version of Joe Rogan. Its called The View.

The normal human beings who can have a rational discussion, they don't want to vote for people like Kamala Harris. The normal human beings who can respond to things unscripted, they don't want to vote for Kamala Harris. All Kamala Harris voters have is The View which is about as unscripted as they can handle. I mean for fucks sake, Bill Maher openly admits that more than half of the leftists he invites on HIS show, they turn him down. They can't handle even 30 minutes of unscripted dialogue where the host is mostly and openly their ally!

The young ladies who called out those poor, hapless MAGA kids on the U-of-A campus for the last month, pretty sure NONE ON THEM would be able to argue cognitively as to why they support Kamala and why anyone who thinks differently MUST be Hitler. Doubt any of them can think that deeply. They are not going to listen to the Joe Rogan podcast. And they are probably not going to want to listen to anyone on Real Time with Bill Maher who supports Trump. A close friend of mine, the woman who lives with him and fucks him, she said to me point blank (because she knew I was a Trump supporter), anyone says anything good about Trump with her in the room, she will get up, walk out of the room, call the police, and have that person removed from my friend's home.

I mean look at our forum, right here. Hedge, DS, and JungleRat, I am certain that IF they could vote, they would vote for Kamala Harris. But none of them have the capacity or the willingness to argue facts and logic with me. Instead, they want me cancelled and removed for thinking differently. Or dead, they want me dead. That is where we are at in this political divide. I don't see any way past this, anyway that our country is ever going to heal.
