so two things

1. she is frustrated the Governor of Texas shipped Illegals to her city without coordinating it with her so her solution is to do the same thing to the Mayor of Burr Ridge
2. Her anger is with the Texas Governor even though she proudly trumpeted her city was a sanctuary city, instead of demanding the federal government, and in particular, Joe Biden, address rampant illegal immigration in this country, which is squarely his responsibility.

I'm not sure what these Mayors were thinking proclaiming their cities were sanctuary cities and then not be able to handle as few as 400 illegals while they expect Texas, Arizona and New Mexico to handle thousands on a daily basis.

What they were thinking is they would win election going after Trump, not actually having to execute policy on their campaign platforms.

Proclaiming a city or county or state a "sanctuary" for illegal aliens, that is just a fucking "narrative" that the politician uses to win elections and re-elections. They just say it because that is red meat for their base of leftists who do not want immigration laws enforced. It is the belief (of their base) that "all are welcome."

Problem is eCat, that when these politicians make these proclamations, they never actually expected anyone (like Gov Abbott) to hold them accountable for their proclamations. It was just words, rhetoric they used to win an election. That's all. Sure, they do not want immigration laws enforced either, but at the same time, they do not want the illegals anywhere near them!!!!! That sanctuary phrase, that was just meaningless words.

They didn't think they would ever be held accountable for their words. That is all this is. That and NIMBY.
