All that lying and corruption by Democrats spanning 20 years certainly didn't offend their morals enough to keep them from voting for the Empress Dowager of lying and corruption last November. If they can do that, then I think I can make my peace with Trump Jr. taking a meeting from a Russian adoption lawyer about dirt on Hillary during a presidential campaign.

Prof needs occasional reminders that, for their transgressions, Bill was impeached by Congress and Hillary got dragged through various congressional investigations. The former for lying like a cheating husband, and the latter for having to answer for a surrogate's weekend false claims about a video inciting a consulate attack. People noticed, people cared - it was in all the papers and on the TVs.

Whereas Trump - with all that has transpired re: russiagate to date, hasn't so much as turned over requests for WH visitor logs. Me, personally - I'll be satisfied when The Donald finally has to go on record under oath. Assuming he doesn't take the 5th on every question posed to him, I just don't think he'd be a defense attorney's dream client. I could be wrong.

Not really. True there was a strong leftist/socialist movement in the West that gained momentum in the early 20th century. The USSR however was not really on the left. There was no socialism (much less communism) there since the counter revolution in 1917 or whenever. What's funny is that both US and USSR propaganda said that the USSR was a socialist regime, but for different reasons. We said it because it was part of a vast anti-socialism propaganda campaign and the Soviets said it because they wanted to ride the "socialism is way of the future" wave that was sweeping across the West.
